Hi I'm Gabrial

I am a Martial Artist. I am US Marine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a Navy family and moved all over when I was younger. I joined the Marines and after my time overseas I came home to start a family. Now many years later I got out of the Marines and now I am a Technical Instructor and a single father. My son and I are into computers, video games and Lego robots. I am also an avid martial artist and a local cub scout leader.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. When I was younger a pair of missionaries walking down the street next to our home saw my family climbing ladders and working on our roof in the hot sun. While we were obviously very busy they asked us if they could share a message with us about Jesus Christ our Lord. For some reason we didn't understand at the time my mother invited them to come back and share their message. We had always turned any such missionaries or preachers away in the past and this stood out as a very strange occurrence. Later that week the missionaries had come, shared their message and left. My family and I were sitting in our living room discussing what we had just heard and so much more importantly what we felt. Never before had we experienced such a warm, comforting and peaceful presence as those two young men had brought into our home. The missionaries continued to visit us and while time has washed away most of the specifics I do remember standing up after one of our lessons with tears running down my face and telling my mother "it's true, I know it is." I had been given a powerful witness as to the truthfulness of the gospel and had it burned into my very soul. Since that time I have had good times and bad times. I have had my world fall out from underneath me but always has my Heavenly Father sheltered me through. Through my life I have had multiple opportunities to test my faith and to build my testimony. I started with my child like faith shortly after my baptism and through the years have come to know my Heavenly Father loves me and that this is his true gospel restored to the Earth. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true and living church on the face of the Earth. I know that we are led by living prophets who speak with the power of God on the world. I know that the Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ and a true and Holy work with the power of changing lives. It changed mine. It can change yours

How I live my faith

I love to serve in my local ward or in my community at large. I have had the chance to help 7 or 8 families move into our out of our neighborhood. I have helped put together a park for a local school. I have taught Sunday School for the youth for many years and also for the adults on occasion. I am a Den Leader for one of our local cub scout packs. I also have the opportunity to visit and teach several local families, check up on them, deliver cookies or treats and just make sure they are doing OK. I have a wonderful family in the church and together we get to visit and fellowship, server and uplift one another throughout the week. Day by day working to make our little community a wonderful place to live.
