Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm a wife, mother, grandmother. I love to be in the kitchen and in the great outdoors.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in an LDS home with nine siblings and my parents made sure we made lots of great memories. We vacationed at oceans and in the mountains and were given many opportunities to engage in art and music and sports and actually any good thing that the world has to offer. I have developed quite a love of cooking and baking (and eating!) and am a member of a neighborhood dinner club, where I make a meal one night a week for the families in the group and receive meals back two other nights from them. I wanted to be a mom and a secretary when I grew up and for many years have transcribed medical reports from my home for the local hospital. My number one priority has always been my husband and children so it's been neat that I've been able to work from home and still make it to appointments and assemblies and have nice meals ready for the family. Now that our children are grown, it is nice to have the freedom to take trips with my husband, go visit family and play with grandchildren!

Why I am a Mormon

For as long as I can remember my parents have taught me about Jesus Christ, have prayed, and have instilled in me the love Jesus Christ has for me. I was very dependent on my parents for truth and although I am a grandmother now myself and have my own testimony, I still appreciate my parents' unwavering testimony of this gospel of Jesus Christ. I appreciate the guidance I receive from the Holy Spirit and all the resources we have to help us be the best we can be. I love the Bible and The Book of Mormon and read from them daily. Although there are trials and challenges in my life, the peace that the gospel brings helps me through those challenges with my testimony intact. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it brings me peace, joy, and happiness as I live the principles.

How I live my faith

I am associated with the women's group in our church. I appreciate the examples of good women in my life; sometimes they have rough challenges but stay so positive in spite of those challenges. Several times throughout the year we gather items for our local safe house, which help women and children who flee abusive and unsafe situations. When we have a call for donations, we are abundantly blessed with the outpouring of generosity from these women and it really warms my heart! Sometimes we are the givers; sometimes we are the receivers, so it is neat when we are able to help. My husband and I are empty nesters and so now fill our free time with community service wherever it's needed~helping victims of natural disasters, or those who don't have enough food to get them to payday, or serving at the church or temple, or simply taking a baked good to a neighbor. Along with these situations, we also take care of our children, grandchildren, siblings, and parents in the various situations they find themselves in. It is all about giving of ourselves whenever needed! I think that covers all the bases: simply wanting to be like Jesus Christ.
