Hi I'm Amy Smith

I'm a wife, mother, daughter, aunt, sister, and a child of God. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a wife, mother, daughter, aunt, sister, and most important I am a child of God. I am a stay at home mom. I have an 11 year old son, Noah, and my husband and I are hoping to add to our family through adoption. We currently live in Provo Utah so that my husband could finish school. He graduated in April and is an Officer in the United States Army. We will be moving to South Korea for two years this summer. I am a full time student and take all of my classes online so that I can be at home. I am studying Elementary Education with the hopes of one day becoming a 2nd grade teacher. I love to sing, play the piano, dance, scrapbook, shop, and hang out with my family. I love to read a variety of books and love to play at the beach. I love being a wife and a mother and find that I feel happiest when I am doing something to fulfill my role as both of these.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because of the peace and love I feel from the teachings of Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon and I have prayed to know if it is true. I have had a firm confirmation in my heart that the words in the Bible and the Book of Mormon are true. I have felt the love of my Savior, Jesus Christ for me and want to share this love with all those around me. I love that our religion is not forced on us. I love that I am given the choice to be Mormon and all that is required of me is to read, ponder, and pray for the answers and Heavenly Father will guide me to the truth. I love that we have missionaries who go all around the world to share the gospel with those who want to know more about us. I am a Mormon because it provides a way for me and my family to be together forever. I love that this life is not all their is. I love that those who did not have the chance to hear about Jesus Christ and his teachings will be given the opportunity after this life and be with their families forever. I am a Mormon because I love the feeling of knowing that I am loved and am never alone. I know that my Savior Jesus Christ is always there for me and helps guide me through my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading from the scriptures, which includes the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other messages from our living Prophets on a regular basis. I have found that when I am going through a rough time or need a little guidance, I can always find an answer to my problems or questions by picking up one of these books and sincerely ponder the words. I pray daily for strength and guidance and I create a home where the spirit is always welcome. In our family we pray before every meal, we have morning and evening prayer individually, as a couple, and as a family. Prayer is a way for us to communicate with our Heavenly Father and I know that I would never make it through the day without his help and guidance.

What is faith?

Amy Smith
Faith is a belief in something that you cannot see. Faith in Jesus Christ is the perfect example. I know he is there and I know he suffered for each one of us, but I have never seen him. Show more Show less
