Hi I'm Carrie Marie

I'm a runner and a high five lover, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

1. i'm a runner. i started to run in high school and since then i have completed 4 marathons, 6 half marathons and a ton of fun 5,8,and 10ks. its one of my favorite passions. 2. i love slurpees....there may not be more of a 7-11 slurpee lover then me. 3. i'm an optometrist assistant and optician. i love learning about the eye in every way and helping my patients to have better vision. 4. i'm a sister and a daughter. i have the most awesome family ever. my family members are not members of the mormon faith. i have 1 full brother and 4 step brothers. we always have so much fun together and well lets just say there is never a dull moment. and that is the best. 5. im a dance party fanatic. i love to just dance around. people that know me the best know that i live for dance parties. i can dance all day and night...though i have to admit i'm definitely not graceful by any means. just love having fun with my friends. 6. i'm a friend. i love my friends so much whether they be new or old. i learn from them every single day and would not know what i would do with out them. 7. i love highfives. i have this theory...anytime you give a high five it is impossible to not smile. so therefore if you give highfives all the time it will be impossible to be sad because you are smiling so much. it works i promise! :) 8. most importantly i know that i am a daughter of my heavenly father and that he loves me and gave his only begotten son so that my sins will be forgiven. the ultimate sacrifice.

Why I am a Mormon

Right before my freshman year of high school my father past away, my mom was getting married to a guy (who i now call my dad) who lived in a place called ammon idaho. strange name. i knew absolutely no one and was going through a difficult time. i grew up going to a different faith and didnt think that it was quite enough...kind of like something was missing. i started to become friends with some of my neighbors and they encouraged me to go to church with them. i was quite reluctant for about 4 months. then the first sunday of november of 2001 my neighbor boy finally convinced me to go with him and his family. i had no idea what to expect. the first sunday of every month is called fast and testimony meeting. most of the members fast for 2 to 3 meals and then come to church and those who want to bare their testimonies are welcomed to go up in front of the rest of the members and say how they feel about the church or give some insights. the people that bore their testimonies got to me somehow and i felt comforted and knew that this is something that i needed to learn more about. i studied the gospel and grew to know and love it. i love the values in which i had already believed in and was practicing even before i began going to the lds church. i love the family values and the fact that i could be with my family not just in this life but for all eternity. i love that no matter where i go i have people that i can meet and that believe exactly the same thing as me. there are so much more that i love about this church its hard to describe in words. but as a 14 year old girl i knew that it was true and then the day (july 2, 2004) when i was 17 years old i got baptized i absolutely knew that this is where i belonged.

How I live my faith

i live my faith by doing what the prophet tells me to. by keeping the sacred ordinances that i promised heavenly father i would. by helping people that need it. by dressing modestly. by being a good example to others by my actions. i read, pray and ponder and constantly learn. i am a mormon and i live my life the way that i believe heavenly father would want me to.
