Hi I'm Dave Thompson

I'm a grandpa, and I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a small business owner. I'm 69 years old and hope to retire in about 6 years. My wife and I have eleven grandchildren whom we really enjoy spending time with. I enjoy riding my bike to work several days a week which gets my day off to a good start. Most of my ride is along beautiful paths which wander along streams and the Platte River. Even though we're in the city, occasionally, I'll even see a fox or a coyote.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Mormon family, being the oldest of five children. I am also a convert. My conversion came early - I think I was about nine or ten. All along, my parents had taught me that our church was true. However, I wanted to know for myself. I can remember that event very vividly. I had prayed about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. Afterwards, while laying in bed, I received a very strong, personal witness. I knew that what I had been reading had come from Heavenly Father. That night, I also knew that our church was true. Since that time, my testimony has continued to grow through numerous, spiritual manifestations. I have been fortunate to have received answers to many prayers throughout my life. I recognize the Lord's hand in my life.

How I live my faith

I've enjoyed serving in many different callings throughout my life. I served a full-time mission in southern Germany back in the early 60's. I've enjoyed working with the young men of the church, and in particular, the Scouting program. My most challenging calling was that of Bishop - a tough assignment, but I appreciated the blessings that came with it.
