Hi I'm Jean van Asperen

I was born in Chile, grew up in Australia. I am a nurse, and am a Mormon :)

About Me

My husband and I have been married for almost 20 years. Being a mother is both a joy and a challenge. I love reading Jane Austen, and most of the films. Shakespeare's plays are amongst my favourites. I enjoy watching films. If I could live anywhere I would live on the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up a Mormon, and I love the gospel. The gospel of Jesus Christ has always been precious to me. Even as a young child the holy spirit has testified to me of its truth. When I was a young girl, I earnestly asked our Father in Heaven in prayer and fasting if these things are true. I testify to you and every one who will hear it the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. That though the Holy Ghost , the truth of the restored gospel have been made known to me. That God lives, that Jesus Christ is our Saviour, and has personally taken upon Himself all the sin, pain and heartache of every one who has lived or will ever live. That Joseph Smith was a prophet and he restored the true church to the earth under the direction of Heavenly father and Jesus Christ. That the Book of Mormon is scripture, I testify of that too. I feel so blessed that we have a living prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson. All who ask in sincerity and faith can have the truthfulness of these things made known to them. I Sincerely testify that these things are true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by showing respect and kindness to those I come into contact. At church i serve in the women's organisation. This is fulfilling as I work with the sisters, especially to help them feel of our Heavenly Father's and Jesus love for them, by working to help meet their spiritual, emotional and physical needs. I this especially rewarding, to feel the friendships that are formed, out of the faith and efforts of women, to live the gospel and serve one another. I also live my faith by working in my community, and encouraging my children to be honest and good citizens.
