Hi I'm David

I work in Law Enforcement, love to play sports, can think of nothing better than to spend time with my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is David, I grew up in the Southern California desert for ten years. When I was ten my family moved to (chilly) Northern Arizona. I finished H.S. and college there and eventually moved to the Phoenix area. I am married to a beautiful women, and we have two great kids. I work in the Law Enforcement - Training field. For fun I enjoy playing sports, swimming, fishing, traveling and spending time playing games with my family members.

Why I am a Mormon

For some people like me who grow up in the LDS church, it is all we know. But at some point for me during my high school years sports, friends, and having fun became my biggest priority. My church attendance and involvement came to a halt for 3 to 4 years in my late teens. I was living on the wild side, because I thought that's where the fun was. After a while going out seemed to get old and was ultimately unfulfilling. That life was exciting and full of some good times, but deep down I knew that I was not truly happy. I have been on both sides of the fence and firmly believe that there is a huge difference between having lots of fun, and finding true long term happiness. To me that is why I have returned to my roots as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (a.k.a- a Mormon). No matter how much you learn as a kid at some point you still have to find out the truthfulness of your beliefs and the convictions of your heart for yourself. I was away from the LDS church for a short time, and thankfully that was all it took to realize that living the gospel of Jesus Christ naturally leads to more profound understanding and happiness. That is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying everyday to be the best person I can. I try to follow Christ example by focusing on the important things in life. Tying to make the world a better place by helping others and humbling myself away from the vain desires of the natural man. It is funny because that is what the world, society and the media would want you to do. Give in….. Try it…. It’s not that bad….Who is gonna know….You deserve it…..Who cares anyway…. Everyone does it….. What ever the wording is, it comes down to the old adage - Eat drink and be mary! Well lets look at what has got us : one of the worst financial crisis America has ever seen, a obscenely high divorce rate, the highest percentage of obese people in the world, and a population that lives over their head in credit and who carry absurd amounts of debt. It is more important now than ever before that I live my faith everyday. We need to focus on the big picture which is helping our fellow man. When we die, the most lasting memory we will leave with others will be the character and humanity in which we lived. That is why I try to inspire my kids, friends, and family members to live with ethics, morals, and integrity. Because what other way is there? And if we don’t, just look at where we are today.
