Hi I'm Sarah

I am a wife and a mother. I am inquisitive, adventurous, and artistic with a silly sense of humor. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up drawing animals and pretending to be them (still do sometimes). I studied chemistry at college and learned to appreciate the invisible workings of systems that produce the wonderful phenomena we observe in nature. My favorite phenomena include my dear husband and our 4 beautiful little children. I am lucky and grateful that I can stay at home to raise my children, and enjoy teaching them about the mysteries of nature. I love hiking with my family in our Colorado mountains, tennis, skiing, reading science fiction, listening to classical music, drawing cartoons, and solving puzzles.

Why I am a Mormon

I have felt God's love for me often in my life - I know that He lives and that through prayer we can receive anwers to our questions. Through study and prayer, I know that the Book of Mormon, like the Bible, is a true witness of Jesus Christ. I know that by following Jesus we attain peace and joy in this life, and in the life after. Jesus makes it possible for us to return to God after death, and live with our families for eternity. I know that the full truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ were restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I was fortunate to be able to serve on a mission in Russia. I have seen the joy that learning and living the gospel of Jesus Christ brings to the good people there. I have hope that raising my children in this church will help them live good, wholesome, and fulfilling lives.

How I live my faith

In this day and age in the U.S., we enjoy much physical comfort and an unprecedented amount of information. However, our time also carries its challenges - a consumer culture, situational ethics, and the breakdown of traditional families. I believe that our children must be protected from these influences that could cause them to doubt their self-worth and exchange the pursuit of joy for the pursuit of pleasure. I teach my children the truths of my faith, and help them build a relationship with God. I believe that knowledge of God's love for them will prepare them to make the difficult decisions they will face. I want them to be a powerful influence for good in this confusing world. In our congregation, I help organize activities to strengthen the bonds of friendship and support among our women, and help provide service for the community. Everyone needs a friend they can rely on!
