Hi I'm LaRee

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My children are grown and I am taking this opportunity to return to school at our local community college. It is very exciting to learn more about biology and health after years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I still work part time and enjoy helping people in their homes on a one-to-one basis. It's exciting to make a difference to their quality of life.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I admit that I was born to Mormon parents, at an early age I felt a desire to know the truth about God for myself. It took me several years during my adolescent life to understand the guidance that God had personally for me. A culminating moment for me was after I had read the Book of Mormon for the third time and was living away from home. Its words sank deeply into my heart, and I knew that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that God lives and loves me personally, and that this is indeed the restored Church of Jesus Christ, duly authorized by Him. Although I respect other denominations in their goodly efforts, it gives me great joy that He has again visited the earth in preparation for His second coming to bring the full truth and blessings of His gospel to us in our day.

How I live my faith

I am so grateful for the teachings of the gospel. We learn to care about one another through meaningful service and happy associations. I find that keeping the Sabbath Day holy by attending meetings, renewing promises, and feeling the love of my Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son with a grateful heart energizes me for the week. It is a joy to sing in the congregation's choir, to prepare a lesson for elementary age children from the Primary program manual, and to visit sisters in our congregation with an uplifting message. I love the associations with my family as well and find joy in being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. I am very grateful for the teachings of the Church regarding Temple work which binds families together and provides opportunities for those who have died without the gospel of Jesus Christ to be given a chance to receive it. I am grateful for the teachings against tobacco and alcohol use which has been such an incredible blessing over the years. I know God's commandments are intended to bring us greater happiness.
