Hi I'm Shanna

Born and raised in Utah, I now live in Milwaukee & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 31 years old. I served a mission for the church in Harrisburg, PA and then I went to college but stop and went to work fulltime so my fiance could finish school. I got married at age 23. At age 26 my life seemed to be crumbling when my marriage did not last even 3 years.Though the church does not promote divorce, they realize that everyone has free-agency and it takes two committed people to make a relationship to work. My church leaders were very supportive of me during this difficult time. After my divorce I moved to Wisconsin to finish school and graduated with my bachelors in Educational Studies. I love visitng all the lakes out here. I have been here three years now and though I miss my family back home I am finding new friendships and bonds with the members of the church here in Wisconsin. I work with children who have autism as a line therapist. They make me happy. I love children but don't have any so I often 'adopt' the children around me to play with and mentor. This makes me happy. I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, writing and swimming.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church but chose at a young age to continue going to meeting when my family became inactive. I had an incredible teacher who picked me up for church every Sunday and let me sit with his family. I developed a strong testimony for The gospel of Jesus Christ and His church through study, prayer and priesthood blessings. Though I have struggled in my life with brief periods of inactivity as doubts cloud my mind, I come back to the church and follow the Lords' commandments because IT MAKES ME HAPPY. I have tried to find happiness the way the world suggests and it always ends in misery. But the Lord accepts me everytime I fall and helps me stand again. True happiness is following the Savior and years of prayer and study have confirmed that this is His true church, the fullness of His gospel restored.

How I live my faith

I try to serve others constantly by listening to the thoughts I have from the spirit about what to do and how to help others. I volunteer where I can for church and community events. Basically, I try to do as the Savior would/did do when He was on the earth.
