Hi I'm Jessica

I love books and the mountains. I'm a mother of three. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and I'm a mother of three. For the last 7 years my family has been my occupation and my joy. The nerd in me loves to read, do math, and follow politics. I have a bachelor's in Economics and I love to learn new things and I look at everything through my economist glasses. Music soothes my soul and I love to sing and play my guitar. Being in the moutains, near my home, is something I delight in. I find few things as beautiful as the wildflowers in summer or the snow capped peaks in winter. I like to stay active, but perfer to walking or hiking outside to being confined to a gym. I love to read to my children, old movies, and sewing.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me as a mormon. I will be forever grateful that they taught me, and my four siblings, the gospel of Jesus Christ while I was young. Once I became a teenager I realized it was time that I learned for myself whether what the Church taught was true. I read the Book of Mormon, for the first time, when I was 15 years old. When I prayed, to my Heavenly Father, to know if it was true I did not instantly feel that it was true and I became discouraged. I attended church the next morning and it was while I heard others testify of truthfulness of the Book of Mormon that I received the answer I had sought the night before. I felt an unmistakable personal witness that the Book of Mormon was indeed true. I have never forgotten that experience. As I have strived to live the principles that I am taught through the scriptures and through the voice of living prophets I have found that my Heavenly Father finds oppourtunities to reveal his love for me and others. I cannot imagine living my life as happily as I do when I live the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I look at the world around me I often find chaos, anxiety, rudenss, and cruelity, but when I look to my Savior Jesus Christ I find love and peace; and I find that I want others to feel the same love and peace that I have found.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by asking myself daily if I am treating others with the love and respect that is fitting for a son or daughter of God. At church I teach the 14-16 year old young women. As I look at their beautiful faces I have hope that the world will be a better place in the hands of this next generation of young people. I hope to be able to teach each of them of their divine nature so that they will be strong enough to go out and help others feel it too.
