Hi I'm Alice

I'm a Mormon. I am a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. I have been a member of the LDS church from the age of 12.

About Me

I was married at the age of 18 and have been happy that I have had the opportunity to focus my life on being a wife and Mother. We have lived in Arizona, California and Texas. We have served a couples mission in Bagio, Philippines where we learned much and loved the people of that country. We loved seeing the missionaries teach, give service and learn from each other and the people of the Philippines. I worked for a short time at a sewing store and also taught sewing lessons to children, which i really loved. I loved the time spent with the children. It seems that people that enjoying sewing are people that share many other interests that I do. I have been happy that I can teach my Granddaughters to sew in the summer time and have thoroughly enjoyed the conversations they have with each other and me. I hope that they will have good memories of this time together. I have served in the PTA and enjoyed the association with others that were willing to give of their time for the good of their children and of the school. I have had the opportunity to serve in many positions in my church. I always learned and grew from each calling, I know that my life has been enriched from having to reach out of my comfort zone I have always loved to read and enjoy reading a great deal. Some of the first books that I read were the "Nancy Drew Mysterys". I thought I would love to ride in her car! I recently read "The Help". I enjoyed it very much except for some offensive language.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was baptized at the age of 12 I really didn't know much about the LDS church. I was invited to come to activities and offered a ride as well. The woman that offered the ride taught me a great deal as we would come and go from my home. That was the beginning of my testimony. I believe that the real change came When my Father was baptized and there were changes in my home. For example, we went to church together, we said prayers together. I have seen how lives can be improved and peace and happiness can come to your home. We always had a good home with parents that loved each other and loved their children. but you could feel the difference with inviting Christ into our home. I remember singing the hymn "I stand all Amazed" and knowing that I was grateful for the love and sacrifice of Jesus and knowing that he is the Christ. I am glad to have music teach and bring the spirit to me.

How I live my faith

I hope that the way I treat people in every day life shows that I believe that Jesus is the Christ. I hope that people feel kindness from me if it is in the grocery store or a Doctors office by the way I talk, the things that I say and how I act toward them. Over the years I have served in many callings in the church. I have served as a Primary president several times and have served in the stake primary. I have served several times as a primary teacher. One calling that I loved was a class of 9 year old girls, I had 18 girls in the class. They were so great and so much fun, I was a better person for knowing those cute girls! I have served in many Relief Society presidencies-about 10 and as a ward and stake Relief Society president. I have also taught in Sunday School. At present I am a visiting teaching supervisor. Being a visiting teacher is one of the most important callings you can have. You have the opportunity on an individual basis to serve and let that sister know that she is loved and valued.
