Hi I'm Maria

I grew up in a small town in Utah. I am the busy mother of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was young I always wanted to marry a handsome man, be a mommy and live next door to my best friend. Well I don't live next door to my best friend, but I am happy to report I absolutely adore my hunky husband and I am the proud mommy of 4 exceptionally beautiful kids(I'm not partial). I love to laugh, play games, go out with either girlfriends or my sweet hubby, workout with good friends, bake(and eat), and read. I enjoy playing, traveling, camping, and just hanging out with my family. Before I became I full time mommy I had an exciting job working in an operating room and assisting in surgery. I loved my job and sometimes miss working and doing important "grown up" things besides being a cook, tutor, taxi driver, maid, and all the glamorous things that come along with being a mom. I have to say though that I have come to realize what an important job motherhood really is, and strive to take my role as a mother very seriously. I am constantly trying to learn new things so that I am always ready to teach my children something new and of course something wonderful.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well thank goodness I was born to parents who taught me from the very beginning of my life about the gospel, and I am so grateful they did. Of course there comes a time in everyones life when they need to decide what is true for them, not for their parents, or because thats all they know, but because it is TRUE! I couldn't rely on the testimonies of my parents and those around me forever. I knew I had to be sure for myself. So like so many others I did what I had to do to know for myself. I studied, and pondered, and prayed. I didn't have an A-HA moment like many people do, but I came to know little by little that this is the absolute truth, not just "a good church to belong to", but TRUTH. I truly have a Father in Heaven that loves me and an older Brother, Jesus Christ who paid for my sins. I know my Father in Heaven not only loves me, but knows me. He cares about every minuscule aspect of my life. I f it is important to me it is important to him. I pray daily for help with things that would seem trivial and minor to anyone else, but I know they are not to him. Some days I feel like if I step on one more cheerio, or have to referee one more disagreement I will break, but I know I can always count on my Father in Heaven for peace and guidance. He has come to my rescue countless times. I love my Father Heaven. I KNOW this church is true. I am so grateful to be a member of this church, and to be able to raise my children in the only true church upon this earth today. I am so thankful to know of the plan of salvation. I can't imagine going through this life not knowing the truths I know because of the gospel. This gospel brings me peace and certainty in a world that is full of contention and confusion. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly and am currently serving with the children of the ward. I help to conduct and take a turn teaching a short lesson every month to all the children ages 3-12. We sing songs together and learn many basic principals of the gospel. I love my calling and love the children and those I serve with. I, with several others from my ward, help oversee that the boy scout program runs smoothly as well. I also have the opportunity to visit two women from my ward every month. My partner and I call and make appointments to go and visit with them, bring them a message, and just check on them and be sure they are doing okay. I love both my companion and the women I visit, and beautiful friendships have blossomed from this assignment. Being a member of the church is a way of life. I am happy to serve, and I always grow and learn so much from doing so. I love attending church and seeing so many wonderful people and making amazing friends. My ward members are a support and an example to me. At home we strive have family prayer at least daily and family home evening weekly.
