Hi I'm Weslie Shearer

I grew up in California. I did a lot of musical stuff in high school. I play Oboe, and I LOVE the word apples! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

So I grew up with my parents for the first 9 years of my life. We lived in a neighborhood where my family and I were the only ones to speak English. My parents practiced their peganistic values and I stood in for their rituals but didn't always do much or understand much of it. I moved into a foster home when I was 9 for a while. It was very scary for me because I didn't know anyone and didn't know what was going on. I then was taken in by my loving Aunt and Uncle. They took care of me from then on and I was in a much greater environment. I choose to take a lot of music classes threw out my schooling and I love it so much and hope to become a great musician one day.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a Freshmen in high school, my best friend Skyler was talking to one of our other friends in math class. He was inviting him to church and he wasn't very interested. I came into the conversation and suggested if our friend didn't come, that I would take his place. I went to my first Sunday service at the LDS church and it amazed me so much. The first thing I noticed that was so much different then other churches I had seen was when they were singing at the begging, I didn't see everyone getting up and shouting and screaming and just not being reverent. Since I am such a musical person, it really made me interested. So I started to come to church and to their youth activities. One day they had a temple trip with the youth and I wasn't able to go because you have to be a member to. So I really desired to have this gospel in my life and then got the missionary lessons and was baptized on January 14th, 2007.

How I live my faith

I'm on a mission as of at this time and I am serving the Lord by bringing as many people I can to the gospel. I'm serving in the Washington Seattle Mission right now. I served as a Ward Missionary in my home ward for a while before I went on my mission and went out with the missionaries as often as I could. I am very interested in serving others and if you live in Corona just look me up on facebook or something and I'd love to come do any type of service for you!

What are Mormon Temples used for?

To me, a temple is somewhere we can go to help our ancestors receive the same sacred covenants and ordinance as we can here on this Earth. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Weslie Shearer
Everyone in the world gains knowledge threw pondering from what they have learned. That's why when people ask this question we tell them to pray about it. Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon teach us that when we ask Heavenly Father questions in prayer that He will give us that answer, maybe not as soon as we ask Him, but He always will eventually. When we ask somebody a question that you don't really care if they give you the answer or not they sometimes can tell so you never get that answer. God works the same way, He will only give us answers to our questions if we truely believe He will answer us or want Him to give us an answer. Sometimes when we are waiting for the answer we might need to act or do something to find out the answer. We give a giant claim that our church is the one and only true church. But everyone in our congregation knows that this is the true church because they have prayed about it. When we do get that final answer it can be in many different ways. Most people will all have a different story on how they came to the truth. I came to the realization buy feeling so overwelmed by the Holy Spirit and feeling so warm inside and everything I was taught about this church just clicked. Nothing was confusing anymore. Just give Mormanism a try by trying to find out if its true this way and I can undoughtably tell you that you will recieve an answer. Show more Show less
