Hi I'm Luann

I grew up in Idaho, USA. I'm a mom and a grandma. I love playing the piano and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and have 4 wonderful children, 2 great son-in-laws and am a grandma to 2 beautiful granddaughters and another one that will join our family in about 3 weeks! My son just returned from a 2 year mission to New York. I love playing the piano and teaching children music. Music is my real passion in life. I enjoy cooking, reading, crocheting, scrap booking, and doing all kinds of crafts. I grew up in Southeastern Idaho farm country, so yes...I did work in harvesting potatoes every year. It was fun getting out of school for 2 weeks to do that and then having money for the rest of the year. My husband was in the military and we enjoyed living in many different places. I now work in the airline industry and enjoy flying often to see my family. I would love to have more free time to travel to other more exotic places and maybe revisit some of the places that we have lived.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church all of my life. I was lucky to grow up with lots of friends that were also members of the church. I was truly converted to the gospel when I was about 14 when my Young Women's leaders challenged us to read the Book of Mormon. If we read for 15 minutes every day, we were able to take a trip to attend the Mormon Miracle Pageant in Manti, Utah. I wanted to go so bad that I read extra and was able to finish the entire Book of Mormon! I took Moroni's challenge at the end to pray and receive an answer. The Spirit bore witness to my young mind and heart that the Book of Mormon was true! I know it can bring you closer to Christ than any other book. I know that when I am doing well at reading my scriptures, every aspect of my life goes better. I love listening and reading what President Monson and out other leaders have to say because I know that is Heavenly Father's current revelation for us. What a blessing to have in our lives. I am especially grateful to have the Priesthood in my home and a husband that is a worthy Priesthood holder. The Lord's power here on earth is a wonderful thing to have in our own homes. I am also very grateful for an amazing elder brother, Jesus Christ, that came to earth to set the perfect example and to perform the atonement that we might be forgiven of our sins and be able to return to live with He and Heavenly Father and Mother again! I love them all so much!

How I live my faith

I enjoy so much teaching the eight to twelve year old girls in activity days. Actually, they teach me! I also get to play the organ every other week and I enjoy singing in the choir. Like I said before...I love music!! It is fun visiting with the ladies on my visiting teaching route. I love getting to know them better and serving them whenever possible. I try to be a good example to those that I associate with. I tell others that I am a member of the church, but I am trying to be better about sharing exactly what I believe in. Praying and reading my scriptures make me a better person, but I am not perfect at that either, but trying to do a little better every day is what we are all striving for.
