Hi I'm Don Jared

I sell industrial equipment, I'm new to Colorado and the Rocky Mountains and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I own a couple of antique Volkswagens and enjoy working on them and showing them at car shows. I also enjoy target shooting, being a handyman around the house and traveling to places I've never been before - all which I do with my wife, who is the most wonderful person in the world! I am also a convert to the church. I was raised in another religion, but had left it because of a lot of unanswered questions. Then I met a Mormon who introduced me to LDS missionaries; they taught me LDS doctrine which answered all my questions - - and more! I have now been a member for over 35 years and continue to learn and grow personally and spiritually.

Why I am a Mormon

For many years, I knew there was a Father in Heaven who loved me; I could talk with Him through prayer and I knew He answered me. However, several things were missing about my original religion and I knew there had to be more. Then I was introduced to the missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Wary at first, I grew to like them as they sincerely strived to answer my questions about a "true" religion and "the true church", most important --- why we are here, where we came from and what happens when we die. I quickly learned that what I wanted to know depended on getting answers to personal prayer. All my questions were answered as I established a closer relationship with my Father in Heaven through prayer --- and reading the Book of Mormon. Another name for the Plan of Salvation is the "Plan of Happiness" and because of my faith in Jesus Christ and His gifts of Redemption and Resurrection, I feel happy and fulfilled. My life now has meaning and purpose far beyond what I ever anticipated.

How I live my faith

I am not a "great" Latter-day Saint by any stretch of the imagination - nor the best Christian. But because of a close relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ, because of His Redemption and Resurrection, and because of what I have learned of the doctrines of Repentance and Forgiveness, I know I can be forgiven for my faults and shortcomings. What a comfort that provides! So I can live my faith, not merely profess it. There's an old saying about work that I paraphrase and apply to my faith: "work is hard if you play at it, but work is easy if you work at it." Taking this same approach, I find it easy to live my beliefs. Hence, it is important to me to share them with others, so they can find the happiness and fulfillment in living on this earth that I have.
