Hi I'm Steve

I was raised in Denver, Colorado. I like to be a happy person. I'm studying computer engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the kind of guy that likes to be happy and make others happy too. I'm a 21 year old college student studying computer engineering. I'm not married, and I like to spend time as often as I can with my friends. I enjoy composing music, playing the piano, and playing the trumpet when I have time. I am a big fan of the arts, both performing and visual. I bring a camera around with me just in case I see something I like. I love dancing swing and salsa. You can bet I'd be willing to play you a game of ping pong or tennis. I am a generally happy guy. Why? I try to avoid looking for happiness in the wrong places, but rather try to always do what is right. I find peace in knowing that God is watching over us, and only putting us through the bad experiences that will make us stronger. Even though I don't worry about things I can't control, I do all that I can to make those parts of my life that I can control the best they can be. I try to be the best I can be.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm happy to say I'm a Mormon. It's not just religion, it's life. It's knowing about the purpose of our existence here on earth. It's about having peace because you know what's going on in your life! I, like everyone else, have bad days, but I can at least take comfort knowing that God has everything under control. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ's church. If only someone could see how deep and true this church goes, they would inevitably discover that this is really the true church of Jesus Christ. They only way someone, or anyone for that matter, could get away from finding out that this is the true church is by simply not looking at it. As soon as you look into it, you will find truth everywhere. You won't just think that way, you will feel that way. I feel that it's true. It is not something you can just see or hear, but rather is something you can feel in your heart. The day I really discovered that it's true was back when I was 13 years old. I had been previously told that I should pray about The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, to know if it's true. One night, I was praying and the idea popped into my mind to pray about it. Since I had read various parts of the book before, it wasn't hard to concentrate on it while I asked God to know if it was true. And then that warm feeling came through my mind and poured into my heart. It was a really good feeling, and it made my heart feel like it was burning. Then I thought for a second, "Hold on! Can I really consider this as an answer from God?" And when I thought that, that same feeling came back, and stronger. That's when I knew. I felt so happy. I really wanted to believe, and so from then on I had a good reason to. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply doing those things I'm supposed to do. I try to be an example for all those around me. I just got back from serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I put a hold on the rest of my life as a college student and dedicated two years of my life to helping others to discover what I have discovered to be true. Though my mission experience was fun in a lot of ways, my favorite parts were when I got to witness people changing their lives. Everybody needs to change their life in one way or another, but only a few actually get around to doing it. And when they do, it becomes the best moment of their lives.
