Hi I'm Erik

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like hot rods and restored cars and trucks. I have an early 1947 GMC 1/2 ton truck that I'm in the middle of restoring now. I took a few years off from this hobby while going to college, raising four girls and developing my career in the computer industry. Now I have the chance to build a collection of tools which is growing nicely. I found that this hobby actually is a stress release from working with computers. I also love to read books of the WWII era. I find history of the world fascinating.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and had good experiences but when I faced the decision of what to do after high school I found my self a little unsure. I reflected on the people I admired most and discovered that they all believed in following Christ teachings and in the LDS faith. So I decided that I would read the Book of Mormon beginning to end and see what happens. I can tell you that I received a powerful feeling inside that was unexplainable - it was peaceful yet strong enough that I could not deny - I had a witness of truth. I've tested the doctrines and teaching and this witness has repeated often to convince me that I believe them to be true.

How I live my faith

Since my conversion I can appreciate the struggle to determine what is true and what is false. I enjoy people and their culture and I have many wonderful friends that are not LDS. I believe in having fun and living a Christian life are not exclusive. Having friends over for a party of games and talking...learning from each other experience. I know that service is the key to overcoming the selfish tendencies we all share. I especially feel the need to 'Rescue' as I know I have been helped so many times from a simple kind word or reaching out when my father passed away.
