Hi I'm Ken

I grew up in an Italian-American home in the Bronx, NY, I work in high tech, play guitar, into photography and I'm a Mormon

About Me

It’s a bit difficult to boil down one’s life to a few sentences. The facts are: I have 5 children , 6 grandchildren with more on the way, my wife of over 30 yrs, is the best friend that I have ever had. I have been fortunate to have a great career and have worked on enabling many things we take for granted ( PCs, DVD and Blu-Ray Players, Digital Photography and Smart TVs) I have played the guitar all my live and have a deep passion for music. But those are just some facts…. the real answer is- that I am a person who has been rescued from a life of confusion and have found a better way through living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have come to know who I really am and what my true potential is.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young adult my understanding of God’s plan for me was incomplete. I felt that my existence was a puzzle that had many missing pieces. I often wondered did I exist before I was born? What is the real purpose of life? I also had questions about what happens to me and my family once we die. I was searching for concrete answers…. more than broad generalizations. I was introduced to the Mormon church by the person who I would eventually marry and raise a family with. At first I was not open to listening and learning. A mighty change occurred the first time I read the Book of Mormon. I sat alone in a room reading the Book of Mormon for 2 hours, all the time feeling a warm, almost burning sensation throughout my entire body centered in my breast. I later came to learn that was the Holy Ghost letting me know that I was reading the word of God. In the months that followed I attended the Mormon church in NY, and was taught by missionaries. It was at that time I realized that many of the questions that I had could be answered. Many of the missing puzzle pieces were falling into place. I decided to join the church and as the first in my family to do so, I had to defend my decision as I was questioned by everyone that I knew. Looking back 30+ years, joining the Mormon church was the single most important decision of my life. As a result of my decision to become a Mormon, I have learned more about Jesus Christ and who he is and what he wants me to do. He is my (and your) Savior, through his example and sacrifice we can live again after we die. If we choose to “follow him” we can live with him forever. As I have experienced life’s most difficult situations I have never felt alone, the Savior was close by when I needed him most. The one thing that resonated the most with me was that families can be together forever ! God has a plan that includes us and all of our loved ones.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by approaching each day as an opportunity to become a better person by becoming less selfish and more giving to others. As a member of the Mormon Church I have been given many chances to serve others by being asked by my church leaders to assist in the Lords work in a variety of ways. While I still have a long way to go, I feel that giving of my time and talents has not only blessed those who I help but has helped me to get closer to being the person that God wants me to be.
