Hi I'm Neil

I live in Washington state. I grew up on a farm. I'm a farmer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a farmer. I recently graduated from college at age 53. I majored in Agronomy. (Crop Production.) I am married and have 4 boys. All of our boys are out on their own. We have 4 grandchildren. We enjoy snomobiling in the winter time. I bought a Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle after graduating from college. (Some think it's part of a midlife crisis.) My wife and I have ridden it through Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and California. My photo is of a stop at Bryce Canyon in Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. However, I have made the decision to be faithful on my own. It is a clean and happy lifestyle. I feel I am closer to God and the Savior because of living the standards of the church.

How I live my faith

I attend regular Sunday meetings. I attend church socials and other activities. I try to fulfill my church responsibilities such as hometeaching, where I and another priesthood holder visit 3 other families each month to encourage them to live the gospel and see if we need to help them in any way. I also go out with the missionaries occasionally. I have responsibility to help teenage young men complete their eagle scout service projects. I serve on a committee to organize activities such as dinners and dances for single adults in the area. I also serve on a committee that organizes quarterly activities for the spanish members in our area. I am trying to improve my knowledge of the scriptures. I offer personal prayers every morning and night. My wife and I pray together daily. We also read a chapter from the scriptures together daily.
