Hi I'm Jordan

I'm a husband and a father of two. I study teeth, play basketball, and love traveling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of two young children and I have a wonderful, beautiful wife. I served a mission in Portugal and have since really felt a strong connection with European history and culture. I enjoy sports and the outdoors. In high school I played basketball, football and participated in high jump, triple jump, and long jump. I also participated in student government. In college, I studied exercise physiology. Currently, I am attending dental school. I play the piano and love music. Some day my wife and I hope to travel the world. Other hobbies I have include having various house projects, gardening, and reading. I also like to stay current with world events especially politics.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon faith but I too had to become converted to Christ and the gospel. Growing up I attended church with my family and knew it to be a place full of amazing people and correct principles. It was wonderful to be taught by so many inspiring people. However, I knew that I could not rely on anybody else for a personal testimony. As a young teenager, I finally decided that I needed to find out for myself if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was really true. I simply could not follow anything that I did not fully believe. I read the Book of Mormon and applied the promise found in Moroni 10:3-5 to pray to God to know if the Book of Mormon was true. I felt peace but I still wasn't sure. I continued to strive to live worthy to receive a solid answer. I can remember praying out in the woods many times quite some time for an answer. I decided to read the Book of Mormon again. I prayed again to know if the Book of Mormon was true. This time I was committed to give my life to the service of God and my fellow man if I could know if the Book of Mormon was true. I then received my answer. It was as the hymn says, "The Spirit of God like a fire is burning." I knew at that time without a doubt that The Book of Mormon was true. This knowledge was essential because it was the foundation of my testimony of Joseph Smith. I know he was called of God. I know that the Priesthood was restored and that the power of God is here on the earth to bless His children. I have made covenants through sacred ordinances administered by the Priesthood of God that have greatly improved my life and help me to be happy. I know that we have a living prophet who is the mouthpiece of God on earth. In the end, I know where I came from, why I'm here and where I'm going. I know how to be happy in this life and through the eternities. I'm so grateful for what I know and I pray to remain faithful to the knowledge I have.

How I live my faith

I have been very blessed in my callings. I know that the callings I have received were inspired from God. I have served in scouting, the Young Men's program, as a temple preparation teacher, as a mission preparation teacher, a ward mission leader a few times and as an Elder's Quorum President. In the church it isn't so much where we serve as much as the blessing of serving. I have striven to magnify every calling and I have seen the blessings in my personal life, the life of my family, and the lives of those I serve. I hope to remain worthy to serve the Lord for the rest of my life.
