Hi I'm Rachael

I grew up in Victoria, Australia. I'm 33 yrs old, married with 6 children and am studying Social Work at University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am your typical busy, exuasted Mum! But thats what I love doing. I grew up riding horses and swimming and as I became a teenager I started Ballroom Dancing. I became a single mum at 17 yrs old but continued my studies at school and later studied Beauty Therapy. I got married at 21yrs old and decided to add to my family. 5 more came in 5 years! I loved being a mum! Life took at terrible turn for the worst and I found myself single, broke and without hope. After 3 years of being single, I found the love of my life. I have recently remarried and started studying social work part time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Gospel. I find myself to be very fortunate to have grow up with the blessings of being a member. As much as I loved the church, I became inactive as a teenager. During the 12 years I was inactive, I always knew the church was true, but i guess I was afraid to come back. Too afraid that I couldn't change the life I had created for myself. One day, my life turned upside down, without any warning and I found myself in a world of loss, pain and confusion. I felt completely alone. I didn't know what to do or who to go too. My family and friends couldn't take away the pain and anguish. So for the first time in 12 years, I prayed. The feelings I experienced that day can never be expressed in words. I knew without any doubt that God lived. That he loved me. That he knew of my suffering and wanted me to turn to him. he wanted to help me. All I needed to do was ask. I went back to church that week. It changed my life. I still hurt but I had the love, support and hope to help me through. I have a Testimony that the Saviour lives. He is real. He knows each and everyone of us personally. I know without a doubt that this church is true. I have lived my life with and without the Gospel. I am so grateful I came back. My life has been and continues to be blessed in every aspect. I am so grateful I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Our lives are centred around Christ. Each day we live as he would want us to live. We aren't perfect, we make mistakes but we always try to live our lives the way Christ has asked us too. We read the scriptures each day with our children, usually over breakfast! We pray each day. We attend church every Sunday. I am a teacher at church and teach the 4 yr old children about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. My children have the oppurtunity to attend social programs run by the church. We actively involve ourselves in the church community by attending meeetings and participating in service projects for those in need. We have a lot of fun.
