Hi I'm Glenn Banks

I grew up in Mesa, AZ. I was born into the church with parents who were members already and had to find out if it was true myself.

About Me

I am a person who has always tried to get to "the bottom of things". My quest has always been, as long as I can remember, to understand basic life principles. I do not go along just because everyone else is. I am not particularly rebellious either -- just have an innate desire to know what and why I do things. I am one of 8 children, second oldest of the siblings. I have had 6 mothers in my lifetime, my biological mother and 5 stepmothers. I have had 5 fathers, my biological father and 4 stepfathers. Adjustment is my middle name. My hobbies are those that allow my mind and body to work together, namely golf and rappelling. I have spent most of my life in school. I have a degree in Political Science. I also have a master's degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. I also have an independent license in substance abuse counseling. I attained the rank of Eagle in Scouting. I have a wonderful wife and 4 children. Three girls and one boy -- in that order.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the personal witness of the Holy Ghost several times in my life that the restoration of the Gospel and the authority to act in God's name has been set upon the Earth in these last days to bring souls to Christ. I have a personal testimony that the Book of Mormon is true and that it's history began in 600BC in Israel and ended in the Americas around 400AD. In my quest to find basic principles in life and religion, I became inactive in my church from the age of 17, when I entered the Air Force, until the age of 25, when I overcame adolescence. I have had to search, ponder, and pray about the truth of this Gospel and its purpose of providing the children of men the necessary ordinances to return to their Heavenly Father. I served a mission in Norway during the years of 1991 to 1993, which confirmed to me on a daily basis that Jesus is the Christ for the whole world.

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly and am a teacher for the men of the church. I have served in numerous positions, including Sunday School president, primary teacher, nursery leader, Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Branch President in Norway, Stake Missionary, Ward Missionary, Ward Mission President, Seminary Teacher for three years, and Home Teacher. I have taught at Especially For Youth for four years in Provo, UT and Flagstaff, AZ. I have taught numerous youth firesides in AZ, NV, CA, and LA.
