Hi I'm Lori

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up in as the youngest in a big family I have learned to love variety. I love to play! This may be one of the reasons I love being around children so much.... because in reality, I"m just a big kid that never grew up. I believe that everything is better through the eyes of a child. When you play with children or spend a few minutes in their world, suddenly the rose colored glasses come out and imagination kicks in. For a child you can be anyone you want to be and they'll love you anyway. When life starts to get too serious or I start to get stuck in the thick of thin things, it's time to pull out the play dough, roll up my sleeves and dive into something fun with my favorite people in the entire world, my nieces and nephews! It is through the love I feel for and around children that has inspired me to major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. Children grow up way too fast. I feel that we are born knowing everything we REALLY need to know, and then spend the rest of our life trying to get back to that! As well as a passion for children, I love the outdoors, adventure, animals, and life! I love the green eggs and ham motto, "Don't dis it til you've tried it." Therefore, I love trying everything from running, figure skating, farming, clif jumping, scuba diving, off roading, rock climbing, gymnastics, music, art, writing, and doing everything the hard way. Some may call this reckless, but as for me, I call it learning!

Why I am a Mormon

Because of my faith, the simple things CAN bring me joy! No matter where I am or what I'm doing, I can have confidence to stand strong and be smart. This confidence comes because of my understanding of who I am. I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and He loves me and I love Him. Nothing can penetrate that relationship. It means everything to me. Because of my faith, I can have a wonderful and happy relationship with my family (even though we aren't perfect), I can love them with all of my heart. I don't have to worry about them or feel sad that I may have to say goodbye to them someday, because I KNOW that I'll get to be with them forever. This understanding means more to me than anything I could ever ask for. Through my faith and awarness that I have a Heavenly Father and that I am His daughter, I am grateful to live high standards. This means that I can live a clean and healthy life and avoid many of the temptations and traps that are out there. My Heavenly Father and I are very close and I know I can talk to Him about anything. However, this awareness didn't come overnight. In fact, I have had to go through many trials, periods of sadness, heartbreak, and pain to get to that point. My life isn't easy, nor is it peaches and ice cream. I have had my fair share of trials, just as everyone. However, during the lowest, hardest points in my life, that my relationship with my Heavenly Father has grown the most and all of the values and prinicples I've been learning from the gospel of Jesus Christ have literally helped me to pick back up. I've felt the Savior's Atonement work in my life and I love Him with ALL of my heart. I am Mormon because I've prayed and by the power of the Holy Ghost I know it's true. Having the gospel in my life allows me to not just learn about my Savior Jesus Christ, but to know him and to strive to become more like him. That is why I'm so happy, my entire soul is filled and I have something to smile about inside!

How I live my faith

Because of my faith, the simple things CAN bring me joy! This is because no matter where I am or what I'm doing, my faith gives me the confidence to stand strong. As I learn about my Savior Jesus Christ, I want to be more like him by diligently serving in his church. I want to love others as he did and find that through doing the things that he did and applying his atonement in my life each and every day, I am blessed with the ability to be more like him and to love others as he did. I love serving and bringing others closer to their Savior Jesus Christ and their loving Heavenly Father. I love to teach children and families about how they can be together. Service and love is the basis for my life. The gospel of Jesus Christ shows me how.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I know that you can come to know for yourself that the Church of Jesus Christ is the true church today. I know it's true, but don't take my word or it. This is a question you can take to our Father in Heaven. I know that as you learn about the church with an open heart, you can pray and Heavenly Father will tell you through the power of the Holy Ghost. This can come through feelings of peace, calm, warmth, happiness, and love. Show more Show less
