Hi I'm Kyugene

I'm a Korean-American. I enjoy working hard and playing even harder. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Los Angeles, California. With a wonderful family who taught me to live, laugh and love. I consider myself truly blessed to have amazing parents who teach me to love others and three siblings who continue to encourage me to do what's right. I currently study at Brigham Young University (BYU) working towards a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. I enjoy any and every outdoor activities. One of my all time favorite outdoor activities to do is go stargazing during the summer. I'm an avid basketball player and work hard at being the best son, brother, and friend that I can be.

Why I am a Mormon

My grandfather was first introduced to this gospel in South Korea where he raised two sons. One of the two sons happened to be my father who was raised in the church. As a result, I was born into this church and raised according to church standards as well. Throughout the years, I've walked down my fair share of doubtful paths and forks in the road. There were many uncertainties that lingered in my heart for a while. Though I was raised according to Mormon standards I wanted to know for myself the truth. I wanted to believe in my faith because I chose to believe and not because someone told me or forced me to do so. Fortunately enough, through many sincere prayers I've come to know what is true and unchangeable. God's love for not only me but for everyone else out there in the world is true and will always be true. As a member of the church I found my happiness and felt the love of the one true and living God. Not only do I see His love for me but also the love He has for every single soul out their who has lived who will live and who are living. I know that this gospel will bless the lives of those who are true seekers of Jesus Christ and His true gospel. I know He loves you more than you will ever be able to comprehend because I've seen and felt that love in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choosing to show my love to the Lord by serving His precious children. Through simple acts of service I find myself to grow in love for those I serve. When I choose to sacrifice my priorities for others I see myself growing in faith and begin to understand the meaning of charity for my fellow brothers and sisters. The more I learn to sacrifice, the more I learn and understand the love of God. My faith has taught me that growth is an eternal process, and in order to grow I believe that we must sacrifice an adequate amount of our desires for those around us.
