Hi I'm Dee Burch

I'm a sports addict, a family lovin home-body, I LOVE Oregon, My heart is in Louisiana, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 24 years old, and I am from a little farm town in Oregon. I served a mission in the Louisiana Baton Rouge mission, the greatest place on earth! About 9 months after returning from my mission, I married my best friend. I love to do anything and everything that has to do with sports or the outdoors- basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, camping, snowboarding, swimming... you name it- i probably love doing it. I love my family more than anything in the world. Spending time with them is one of my favorite uses of my time. I grew up a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints, but like everyone, i had to find out for myself if it was true. My parents were amazing examples and so i always knew there was something about it that must have been good, but it took a little bit of trial an error for me to come to really know with all my heart that these things were true. There is a difference between believing that these things are true, and knowing they are true. Putting the principals into action really showed me that there is no other way to find true joy than to live the gospel to its fullest! I am and will forever be grateful and proud to be a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a strong Mormon house hold, but went through my years of finding out for myself what i wanted. In the end, it came down to the example of my parents. I knew that i wanted that same joy that they have from living the gospel and alighning their lives with the Lord. The gospel of Jesus Christ fills and empty hole that you never knew you had. Now that my whole heart is in it, my life could not be better. I still face trials, as i always will, but the strength i have to overcome them is so much greater now. With the Lord with me, i can do anything!

How I live my faith

I believe there is a difference between going to church and living your faith. I have a strong testimony that to live my faith, i try my best to act as the Savior would at all times by displaying those attributes that we love about Him so much; Love, Charity, Kindess, Patience, Obedience, Hard work, Humility, faith, honesty, hope, and so many more. To live my faith, i try to be like Him towards all mankind. Our purpose is to help eachother in returing to live with our Father in Heaven. We are all on the same team :)

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Dee Burch
Temples are so special to me. Not only are they a wonderful place where so much peace can be felt, but they are also a place to make sacred covenants with the Lord and where you can be sealed with your family for time and all eternity. Someone once told me, "when that special someone asks for your hand in marriage, your anser is not yes. It is where." To be married in the temple is on of my greatest desires and is a goal I will never compromise. Family is so important to me and i can't wait for the day when i can say that i am sealed to my husband and family for time and all eternity! Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Dee Burch
Being a member of the church is AWESOME! Just because we are strong in the faith and love living with the highest of standards does not by any means mean that we are boring. Being Mormon is so much fun! There is so much joy in life. We keep the commandments because they make us free and we are able to keep our agency that way. We are just normal people trying to endure to the end!! Show more Show less
