Hi I'm Penny

I am a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother to a wonderful family whom I love to spend time with.

About Me

I have been married to a wonderful man, Larry, for the past 20 years who has blessed my family and my three children (at the time) ages 6, 8, 10 after their father passed away. Larry has strengthened me and has been a great companion and father to our children. I know he is a special gift from god and I am so grateful for him. I am now a grandmother of 14 grandchildren and enjoy this part of my life. Most of my grandchildren live in other states in the US and I miss them a lot. We enjoy the few times each year we get to spent together, but the many phone calls and web cam visits over the internet sure help us see our grandchildren learn and grow during the other times. I enjoy seeing my children as adults and how well they have turned out. I am so thankful that all of my children have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and are active members of the LDS church. I have grown closer to my children as I have watched how wonderful they have raise their children and help them to become good active citizens of their own communities.

Why I am a Mormon

One of the best things I can thank my mother for is that I was given a name and blessing to be placed on the records of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) church at birth and she did her best to keep us active as children and teenagers. I worked really hard during my childhood to get my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I gain a testimony early in life but it was not as strong as it could have been because of many difficulties in my life while growing up. Not until later in my life after many trials did I gain that strong testimony for which I am so grateful for. I believe that through our trials we are here to learn and grow as we are being tested and proving our worthiness to return to our Heavenly Father. Several times after years of waiting I have learned the reason why I needed to be tested in certain areas. I have been able to use what I have learned to help others and to become a stronger and better person. I know that when I do make mistakes or sin that I have the opportunity to go to my Heavenly Father and ask him in the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior, to be forgiven and if I do all that I can to correct or fix the problem, I can be forgiven. But, this can only be done through the atonement of Christ, because he paid for my sins and he paid for your sins too.

How I live my faith

I live in a rural area called Casa Grande and I love my ward. We are a big extended family and I am grateful for the opportunities that I have to serve the area members and the community. I have recently been released from my calls in the church as Ward Music Director and the Compassionate Service Leader. Our Ward has been so eager to help when there is a need in the area. We all pitch in when there is a funeral or if someone has been in the hospital with food, a visit, and a kind word. I have always loved music and have fortunately been involved in many choirs both in Arizona and in Utah. I feel the Holy Spirit the most through good music. I will miss my calling but look forward to the new one as Activity Group member. I love crafts and sewing and I cannot wait to use the talents that the Lord has given me and the other members of our committee to bring the community together in fellowship. We enjoy getting our hands dirty and learn new things each month such as gardening, scrapbooking, arts and crafts, and hand making inexpensive gifts for our loved ones that are so cute. I am so grateful for the many blessings that my family and I have been blessed with. I know we are watched over and cared for by a loving Heavenly Father and I look forward to returning back to him with my family all around me.
