Hi I'm Jamie

I grew up in South Dakota and now live in Minnesota. I am a convert and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota. That is where I met my husband of 15 years and now we live in Minnesota. I enjoy the outdoors, fishing, watching my son play baseball, and watching my daughter dance.I am a mother of two. I work full time as a dental assistant. I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

When my husband had first asked me to come to church with him, we hadn't known each other very long. I had grown up in a household where each one of my parents had different backgrounds with religion. My father a Methodist and my mother Lutheran. I had attended church with my mother a few times but not regularly. At times differences did cause some issues between my parents, so for the most part we avoided any church. So when asked to attend church, I agreed cautiously. I was introduced to the missionaries and was converted in 1996. I have not been active until 2 years ago, and I am sad that I choose to let so much time slip away. It wasn't until our son became a teenager that I realized I wanted more for him and our daughter. I wanted them to know their Savior. I wanted them to understand there is so much more to life than what we see day to day with the media and peer pressure. I wanted to make sure they had a sense of who they are and the real purpose we are here today.

How I live my faith

We attend church weekly and pray together as a family daily. I am involved in helping plan activities for the younger girls (ages 8-11). We have also made it a priority to have the missionaries over for dinner at least 1 a month. It is such a blessing to have the missionaries over to our home, and I feel it is important that our children are able to see and listen to the missionaries and their experiences.
