Hi I'm Laura

I'm a wife, mother, sister, friend, eternal optimist, exercise enthusiast, I love to feel the wind on my face and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a native Californian I currently reside in the Pacific Northwest. I am a wife of a physician and the mother of two beautiful children (a girl and, after years of fertility tests and procedures, a boy). I spend my free time working as a personal trainer, cycling, doing yoga, playing tennis, traveling to Hawaii (love that place), helping with school projects, playing with Play-doh, reading any book by Jane Austin, and enjoying life with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised Mormon. It is all I know; however, I have questioned, tested, studied and prayed about the teachings of this Church. I know it is true and it is wonderful. Life can be crazy and busy and frustrating and full of trial and difficulty. However, when I pause and enjoy the small things and breathe in the beauty and the truth of what this life is about I find joy. True unmistakable joy amid the chaos because of the peace that the teachings of the Church brings. The truth found in being a Mormon is that I have a Heavenly Father that knows me - just good ol' me and loves me despite my failings. His love for me is so great that he sent His son to earth to teach me, to guide me, to show me how to live to find this joy and He ultimately gave His life that I may live to my fullest now and forever. I am a Mormon because it allows me to read and study the Bible and the Book of Mormon so that I can learn more of my Savior, and learn of the plan that He has for me that I can be with my family forever and return again to my Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because I feel love, peace, and joy as I live the teachings of this Church.

How I live my faith

Being Mormon is a simple thing, really. For me it is studying scripture and the teachings of modern prophets to learn more of Jesus Christ and His plan for me and then striving to follow what I learn. This includes serving others and being kind to friends, family and to those I meet. Also, keeping the commandments and keeping myself clean and free from harmful things both to body and mind. Being Mormon is simply trying to be the best I can be each day and recognizing the Lord's hand in all I do.
