Hi I'm Dempsey

I'm a leader. I'm a missionary. I'm a servant of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have had a very blessed life, so far, and I can't wait for what lies ahead. I have always been a very active person, I've played sports all my life and love doing physical things like them. My parents taught me to always do my best and work hard, which is why I have a good work ethic but also why I graduated high school with very good grades and at the same time received an Associates Degree. I am an outgoing person, and I love people and I love to associate with everyone. I have been a leader all throughout my life, whether it was in school, work, family, friends, sports, or any other activities. I largely believe the reason for that is becasue I do not shy away from things and am a very confident person. Though I would say that I love to observe things all the time, which has given me a love for nature, the world around me, and all the little things that make the world go round. I would myself and a well rounded person, not specified in anything, good at a lot of things, but loves everything and everyone.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I have been a member of this church all my life, I have had my witness that this church is true. I haven't witnessed or experienced everythings, but I have seen enough in this church to know that: We all have a Heavenly Father who loves and cares about us and wants the best for us. That we have a Savior Jesus Christ. He came and lived on this Earth, and taught and lived the kind of life we should live. He suffered for all the sins of every person that has, is, or will live on the Earth; of this we are Eternally indebted to him. He died on the cross, but he rose 3 days later, breaking the bands of death, and made it possible for all of us to be resurrected and return and live with our Heavenly Father again, if we are so worthy. I know that there are many people who are searching for the truth in this world, as was a young man named Joseph Smith. I know that he prayed to know which Church was true and had the fulness of Jesus Christ's Gospel. I know that he was visited by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and he saw and spoke with them, and he was told that none of the churchs had the fulness of the Gospel. I know that Joseph Smith was an instrument in Heavenly Father's hand in bringing back the restored Gospel to the Earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, just like those of old. I know we have a prophet on the Earth today Thoms S. Monson, and he leads and guides us on the Earth, through the direction of Jesus Christ. I've seen all of these truths in the members of this Church, in one form or another, in the way that they live their lives. The members of this church they aren't perfect but they do their best to live their lives in a way Heavenly Father would be pleased with. I love this Gospel so much and I am so grateful just to know of it, but to be a part of it, for that I am truely blessed, and I would ask you to seek it out for yourself to know if it is true also, and I give you that challenge and dedicate this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life as best I can. I learn as much as I can about the Gospel and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Then I do my best to follow his example and encourage as many other people as I can. And I continue to talk and spread his word to all those that will listen, and I pray that they will earnestly think about what was said and pray about it for themselves to know if it is true. Because I know it is and I want to help everyone else know of it's truth also.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Deffinitely not, in the Church we are taught to servce our fellow man. Yes, other members of the Church are our fellow man, but there is still the rest of the world that falls under that description. The Church has done so much especially in disaster situations to send any kind of help to those areas in need; whether that be supplies, food, helping hands, or funds to do so, the Church does what it can for those in need. I personally have spent many weekends and breaks from school going and providing service for others and many times they have not been of our faith. I have found and I am certain anyone else that has provided service in their life has gone away feeling great joy and happiness and a greater love for that person or people they served. And that is because Heavenly Father has revealed through his prophets that when we serve our fellow men, we are in the service of God. The oppurtunity to serve one another is a great blessing in your life and in the lives of those you serve. Through the Church there is so much that people do to serve, that it eventually becomes a lifestyle and you start to serve all those you come in contact will in your everyday life, just like the Savior did, and he served all people.
