Hi I'm Eric

I love spending time with my family doing things like backpacking, wakeboarding and snowskiing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three and my wife and I have been married over 20 years. Our family activites include going to the lake in the summer for wakeboarding, kneeboarding and tubing. We love going on family vacations up in the mountains. During the school year, we go on hikes on the weekends as often as we can. I work hard to provide for my family, always keeping in mind that no success of mine in my professional life can make up for failure to create and maintain a successful family life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of my faith in Jesus Christ. The feelings that I have when I read about Jesus in the Bible and the Book of Mormon are a witness to me that Christ lives, that He loves me and that I can be forgiven of my sins. I am happiest when I try to follow His example in caring for others and forgetting myself. Whatever difficulties, disappointments, pain or sorrow that I may have in this life, I know I can find comfort through my faith in Jesus Christ. When I was younger and attending college, I was exposed to many other explanations for the purpose of this life. As I entertained these different philosophies I did not feel that any of them offered the whole truth. Only as I read the scriptures and pondered and prayed about them did I feel in my soul that they held the answers about why we are here, where we came from and where do we go after this life.

How I live my faith

Through my service in my church I have been able to be a leader of young men in helping them to enjoy the outdoors by doing such things as hiking, wakeboarding, caving, rappelling, rock climbing, canoeing, white water rafting, mountain biking, and many other activities. I strive to provide a positive role model while teaching leadership and developing character and self confidence. When I am not going on an outing with the youth, I go with my friends and family to do the same things. My wife and I enjoy music, so we sing in our church choir. We set aside Monday nights each week to spend with the family learning about Christ, teaching standards of behavior and having fun.
