Hi I'm Richard

I'm an Arizona native. I'm a husband and a father. I'm a General Contractor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised here in Arizona. I was blessed to serve for two years as a missionary for my church in Santiago, Chile. I met my beautiful wife at Mesa Community College and after we were married we both attended and graduated from Arizona State University. I have been blessed with three beautiful children. After working as a superintendent for many years, I earned my General Contractors license and started my own construction business. I love all things outdoors and enjoy photography, boating, waterskiing, shooting, videography and cheering on my favorite baseball team- the Diamondbacks.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a fifth generation Mormon. My parents raised me in in the LDS faith and I am so grateful for the foundation that has given me. At the start of my teenage years, my world was turned upside down when my sister died in a car accident. At the time, I mainly relied on my family for comfort and support. But as I grew and matured, I realized the importance of having the Spirit with me on a constant basis and how the companionship of the Holy Ghost gives me understanding and perspective during those most difficult times we all experience. That personal testimony also grew when I left everything and everyone I knew, and served as a missionary in South America. I cherish the spiritual and life lessons that those two years taught me. Now as a husband and a father, I cannot imagine raising a family without the principles that I have learned in this religion.

How I live my faith

As a general contractor, I really enjoy solving problems, improving existing conditions and creating beautiful structures from raw materials. Being useful is one of the most rewarding and satisfying aspects of my career. In construction, I strive for honesty and fairness in all my dealings with people. As a father and a husband, I try and live those principles with my family. My wife and children are the most important job I will ever have while I am upon this earth. I try and spend as much time doing quality activities with them that are fun, worth-while and uplifting. We read scriptures as a family, have family home evening, work around the house together, go on memorable vacations and attend church every Sunday together. I have also had opportunities to serve in the church by teaching Sunday school classes, serving with the 12-18 year old young men in The Boy Scouts of America, and currently I assist local church leaders who oversee 10 congregations called wards. Serving in these church callings sometimes requires time away from my family. My children can see that it is important to help, serve and to sacrifice for others. In some small way I want to help build up the kingdom in my corner of the world. My great desire is to be a useful servant for my Savior.
