Hi I'm Derick.

I'm a husband and a future father and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Arizona my senior year of high school. This was a big change for me but I have now been in Arizona for 10 years and I have grown to love the desert and its unique beauty. I have been married to a beautiful, sweet, loving wife for almost three years now and we are very excited as we are expecting our first child in March. I enjoy playing and watching football and basketball. I also have a deep love for both listening to and making music. I am currently a claims manager for disability claims and am working on finishing my bachelor’s degree.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was just six years old I started attending church with my family. Over the years, through many small and subtle experiences I have come to know the truthfulness of the teachings I was being taught from a young age. As I strive to live the restored gospel of Jesus Christ I see how the Lord blesses me and my family, and this strengthens my knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel. The blessing, for which I am most grateful, is the knowledge that if I strive to live the commandments faithfully I will live again with my Heavenly Father accompanied by my wonderful family.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy working with the youth of the church. I currently work with the 14 and 15 year old boys. We have done many activities through the Boy Scouts of America including camping, cycling, hiking, Dutch oven cooking, and learning about how to manage our personal finances. We have also done activities just for some healthy fun like going swimming at Grasshopper Point, near Sedona, AZ. One of the things I love most though is the opportunity that I have to teach the boys about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and how it can bless us in this life and in the hereafter.
