Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. I've always been active and introduced my husband to the Church. I love the scriptures and study them every day, they give me inspiration and hope. Going to church is not the easiest thing in the world for me. I don't have a lot in common with the many other members. But I know that the Church is true because I feel it in my heart.

How I live my faith

I have always loved the music of the Church. Since I play the piano, I've accompanied both adults and children. I love almost all of the hymns. I've also planned Christmas parties and socials and have loved visiting many families to share the Gospel... and treats! As a family, we read the scriptures every day, say prayers in the morning and evening and spend Monday evenings together learning, serving and having fun. Twice a year we spend a whole weekend watching General Conference so that we can hear the messages that our church leaders want to share with us. These provide a focal point for the next six months. On my own, I study the scriptures each day, using study manuals when I can, and enjoy writing in my journal. I also read the Ensign, trying hard to make it last exactly a month! As a wife and mother, daily prayer is an important part of my life. I try to include my faith in everything I do, from the movies, music and books that I enjoy, to the way I present myself and decorate my home.
