Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an engineer and enjoy developing new approaches to solving problems. Unlike many other people, I enjoy going to work every day because every day is different. Each day brings new challenges to overcome and new problems to solve. I am now working on a project to use solar photovoltaic electricity to power some of the electrical load in a factory and a project to use solar heat to generate steam for factory use. I feel that I receive inspiration in my work that helps me to do what is necessary. I recognize that I am receiving Heavenly Help and am so gratefuI for that assistance. I like to learn and use new skills. I built my own home and a large green house so I have developed skills like plumbing, electrical, carpentry, concrete and stucco work, and painting. I enjoy lots of outdoor activities like hiking, camping, biking, and gardening. We have five children and one grandchild and really enjoy working and playing with our family. I would rather be with my family than with anyone else. I sincerely believe that I will be with my family for eternity and can not think of anything that would mean more to me. As a youth, I never imagined that being married and having children and grandchildren would be such a wonderful experience.

Why I am a Mormon

As a teen, I began to think seriously about my spiritual beliefs. I determined that I needed to seriously read the Book of Mormon and pray to find out if it was true. As I did, I felt a strong spiritual confirmation that the Book of Mormon is true, that I am a child of God and he loves me, that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and that the Church of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I love the Bible and have been very inspired by what is recorded there. I am amazed as I read the Acts of the Apostles and see how well those great men took the gospel to the ends of the earth. I also marvel at how modern apostles are taking the gospel to the ends of the earth in our time as directed by Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have found great joy, happiness, and peace by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served as a missionary for the Church many years ago in Brazil and have never stopped serving since then. I have grown and developed personally by teaching young children or adults during Sunday meetings or working to help young men in Boy Scouts. I am presently working with about 40 young single adults between the ages of 18 and 30. I really love this opportunity to help these young people gain greater testimonies of Jesus Christ, avoid decisions that could only bring them heartache, gain an education and develop good employment skills.
