Hi I'm Nate

I grew up and still live in Colorado. I work as a finance manager in the automotive business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado. I come from a big Mormon family. We didn't have lots of money growing up, so many of my memories are of fishing, camping and playing games. We always made do. I have had all kinds of jobs. I've worked at a carwash, a bakery, waited tables, sang in an italian restaurant, ran a projection booth at the theater: and that was all before I turned 20. When I was 20 I served a 2 year mission for my church to Lisbon, Portugal. Words cannot describe how eternally grateful I am for that opportunity. I really served, and learned to love the Portuguese people. Come World Cup soccer time, I root for my Equipa Portugal as hard as any born and bred native Portuguese. Professionally I've been mostly in sales. 3 years selling pre-need funeral arrangements, 1 year in the home theater business, but the past 10 years in the car business. I really didn't want to do the car business for fear that I would be asked to do some sketchy things, but I found a great dealer with a super upstanding GM, and have been here 9 years. I was married in 99 to the greatest wife a husband could have. We have 4 kids. 3 boys and a girl. Life is great.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at 8 years old as most people that are raised in the Church are. I really don't recall a time in my life where I doubted. My teenage years were full of stress for my Mom, but I made it through. Come time for my mission to Portugal, I decided that if I were to do it the right way I would need to have a little more than faith. There were moments of great revelation that were given to me while I was preparing to embark on my mission, that remain to this day as spiritual strongholds. Those revelations let me know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints was the true church of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I know that he established his Church anciently, and through apostacy, fell away. This brought a need for a restoration. I know that Joseph Smith, who saw God and Jesus Christ at His right hand restored Christ's Church. Authority of God, or the Priesthood was given to Joseph Smith to perform saving ordinances such as Baptism. That authority was given to me by my Grandfather who can trace his line of authority back to Joseph Smith, and ultimately to Christ himself. I know that we are led by a living prophet today, namely Thomas S Monson. President Monson and the other leaders of the Church are special witnesses of Jesus Christ, just as the apostles of old. I am so greatful to have been born into this Church. But more importantly, am grateful to have the fullness of the gospel in my life and my families life.

How I live my faith

I have many responsiblities in the Church right now. The most special to me is that I have the opportunity to teach the youth in my ward in Sunday School. Each week I prepare a lesson that I hope the kids can relate to. Even though kids these days have some very different circumstances than I had when I was their age, I feel that I can relate to them. I have found that my kids are looking very hard for guidance. We have a great time each week searching the scriptures for that guidance. This year we are studying out of the New Testament. What better advice should a young man or women take than the words that came directly out of the Saviors mouth? It's been a great year.
