Hi I'm Susan

I am a Mormon. It is who I am, and encompasses my whole life. It brings direction, great joy and happiness to me and my family.

About Me

I have been married for over 25 years to my husband, and I am a mother of a son and a daughter. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from BYU, and have been able to work as a substitute teacher. However, the majority of my time has been spent being a wife and a mother. My son will be returning from a mission soon, and my daughter is in college. With my children about grown, there are many things I would like to pursue to give back to the community to help different foundations for health causes and educating people about caring for their animals.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Latter-day Saint is very important to me. It is who I am, and encompasses my whole life. Two weeks before I was born my father joined the church. My mother had a great part in my dad's conversion. I am grateful my father embraced the LDS faith, and has been a faithful member ever since. I was taught the principles of the gospel as I grew up, but during my seminary years I realized I had to gain my own testimony of this church. I read the Book of Mormon and took Moroni's challenge to ask God if the things that I had studied were true. I received a confirmation that the Book of Mormon was another testament of Jesus Christ and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true.

How I live my faith

As I stated in the last section, the LDS church is who I am, and answering these questions has made me realize that even more. I love serving in the church. I can't adequately quantify how important it is to me. My husband and I have had many opportunities to serve in the church, and we are very supportive of each other in whatever we have been called to do. I love to sing and I have been a choir member and director. It has been a wonderfully fulfilling endeavor. I have taught the young children the basics of the gospel and seen them grow their faith. I have been blessed to participate in many different humanitarian efforts. Our church gives members opportunities to serve one another. This gives us the ability to live our faith and strengthen our testimonies. The Lord blesses us for our sincere efforts. I have also had the opportunity to serve the young women in our ward and stake. I have gained knowledge and understanding in each opportunity for service. I have felt a spiritual strength for weeks after attending a girls' camp. I feel very blessed every year I have been able to attend.
