Hi I'm Ammon Snedegar

I'm from California, I love singing and architecture, I'm enthusiastic, I go to BYU-I and I am getting married...and I am a Mormon

About Me

I am the second to last child with 10 total sibling(I know, that's a lot). I grew up in southern California and I must say I have a little California pride. I go to college up at BYU-Idaho and I am on my 4th semester. I am studying architecture and vocal performance and loving it. I love to go swimming and spending time with my family and friends. I also love singing and acting and playing the piano. I fall a lot, but I just joke about it, I love making people laugh and helping them to have a good time. I served my two year mission in Minnesota and Canada(LOVED IT!). I love people and I love their happiness. I love kids and I can't wait to be married and have some of my own. I love helping people out that are in need and I wish I had more so that I could give more. I love life and I love my savior Jesus Christ! I know that through Him all things are possible! Without a belief in Christ I would not be able to live in the world today. Really, I just love being happy and almost nothing will get me down. I love my life and I live without regrets. It doesn't mean there are thing in my life that I wish I hadn't done but I know my Savior is forgiving and I am living the best life that I can and I know he is proud of me.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons of why I am a Mormon. I went through some struggles earlier in life and I needed questions answered. In all my asking and searching all my questions were able to be answered through the basic beliefs in which the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints considered to be the gospel of Christ. I took the challenge to read the Book of Mormon (which I put off for many years). After I completed reading the Book of Mormon I felt that it was true, but I still had doubt. One Sunday while in Sacrament Meeting everyone was singing the hymn "How Great Thou Art." I felt this over whelming sense of peace come over me and I knew that something was true. There was a scripture at the bottom of the hymn book which lead me to read Mosiah 4:9-10 (in the Book of Mormon). It told me to believe in God. He is my creator and that he truly knows all things and I will never know all things while on this mortal journey. It also told me to repent (change) and to become more like my Savior. I knew that the words were true and my testimony of my Savior became firm and my belief in the Book of Mormon became sure. From that point everything fell into place. It is the reason for why I am where I am in life and is the reason I decided to choose this path, not one that seemed "more fun." I give that moment full credit to my happiness now and in the years to come. I know without a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is our Lord and Savior's kingdom on earth!

How I live my faith

I am on my two year mission right now in Minnesota and Canada. I am serving the lord full time and I have never been happier in my life. I share the gospel with everyone I come in contact with and I get to be fully devoted. There is nothing better in the world than to be fully devoted to the Lord. I am always doing my best to practice what I preach. As a missionary I do a lot for the building of God's kingdom, but something I am doing right now that has been very fun is to teach what is called Gospel Principles at church. This is a class that anyone may attend, but it teaches the very basics of what we as Latter Day Saints believe. I enjoy working with those who are not members and are searching for truth as well as those who have recently joined and have burning testimonies, but are still trying to grasp the basics of the doctrine. I also enjoy serving others. I find true happiness when you help someone who is truly in need and when you can really help some one, there is no better reward than a thank you and a smile on someones face. I pray that everyone will give more than they get, if everyone lived that rule the world would truly be a better place.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Ammon Snedegar
I am out on my mission right now because I love this gospel and there is nothing more in the world that makes me as happy as this gospel and I want to share it with everyone so that they can have the same joy that I do. So, I guess you might think of me as that annoying missionary that comes to your door. Why am I standing there on your doorstep? Because I know what i have to share is true and that it has made me more happy and has brought me more peace than anything and is there anything wrong with that? If someone wants to share a movie they like with a friend people gladly except and understand. What I like if worth so much more than any movie, so I will make sure I share it. I guess what I am saying is, I Love the gospel so I want those I love to have it as well and the Savior said to love all men. Show more Show less
