Hi I'm Tim

I'm a Mormon. I'm a sports guy. I love to be active and have fun.

About Me

My name is Tim. I am retired as of 1 year and 4 months. I was an IBEW Electrician. I also have a career in officiating sports. The three I enjoy the most are basketball, volleyball and slow pitch softball. I have officiated soccer, hardball and football, but I do not have enough passion for those sports. I play table tennis with a club and I enjoy that enormously. I also play tennis. My wife and I go on short vacations which we enjoy. We have gone to Mt. Rushmore, S.D, San Diego, Denver and California recently. My wife really wants to go to Hawaii. We have a dog, a cat and Koi and some comets.  I was in Vietnam when my father died at the age of 52. I am no. 2 of 6. I have 6 children, 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In the past I have raised many different species of birds, including African grey parrots, parrakettes, cockatiels, quail of several species, doves, pigeons, chickens, etc. I also have raised sheep, goats and ducks. In short I have a wide range of interests.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 16, I had to know for myself if what I had heard was worth adopting as my way of life. I read the Book of Mormon and I asked my Father in Heaven if this was His words and if I should continue in the mode of life that my family and some of my friends were living. I am a 5th generation Mormon, but found out that this fact has no guarantees for anything. It is as if I just learned about the church for myself. I now know it is the best way to be happy and fulfilled. It has been a cake walk, but it worth it.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? That is a complex question. The first item that comes to mind is that I attend my weekly meetings no matter where I am. I speak positively, always, about church issues and sports, especially BYU sports. My wife and I volunteer whereever we can to build the kingdom and we send money to help others in the world to go to college. It is called The Perpetual Education Fund. I am the ward athletic director. I coordinate sporting activities between all parts of the ward and any communications with our leaders in the Stake(governing body, kind of). We have a cannery close us there we can things like stew, beef chunks, green beans, turkey chunks, and what ever comes up. I refrain from smoking, drinking alcohol, eating harmful things that harmful to me but possibly not to others. As an example, I do not drink soda, eat much chocolate, eat less sugar than most and eat less beef and chicken than most. The meats I eat limitless are turkey and lamb. I read and study the scriptures for me not for anyone else. I do not push my beliefs on anyone. One must ask me or I just live my life. I know when someone is interested. I was a missionary in Mexico from 1964-1966. Yes, Yo hablo espanol, pero mi vobabulario es muy feo.
