Hi I'm Spencer

I am a Mormon. I am a missionary in California! I aspire to one day grow a great mustache.

About Me

My name is Spencer, I am the oldest of three siblings and we share a loving mother and father. Something unique about me is I love to cook, whatever it is, chinese is my favorite though. My passion in life is sports, especially football, I played in high school and I love everything about the game. I live in Utah so there is alot of snow, I snowboard and love to be outside. When, or if rather, I grow up is to be an Astronaut. Going to space has always been a dream of mine and am excited about it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons, the biggest probably being my home life. My mother was not raised in the church and she did not like the feeling in her house growing up. She knew that the gospel of Jesus Christ can bless families and she wanted a family that was blessed by the gospel. She married my father who was strong in the church and has been since he was born and together they raised a great family who loves the gospel. Me for myself however needed to have a testimony of what my parents taught in the house. For that testimony I needed faith, for that faith i needed a hope of what i was taught is true. I personaly had to gain a testimony of the church and the way that happened for me is to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. I recieved my answer and God told me that this book is true. My faith then grew up to the point of now, which I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am out here because i know that the book of mormon is true and that the gospel blesses people. I love the church, Joseph Smith saw what he said he saw. I have a testimony of the gospel that is my own and i independantly know of apart from all other sources. My family is a blessing in my life and put me on the right track in how to follow Jesus Christ but i know for myself it is true through faith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith right now by serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am serving in California and i know that God called me here to do his work. I am not on a mission because my parents wanted me to be, rather i am on my mission because it's where I want to be. The church is true, and i have a great and wonderful obligation to teach of that truth. The gospel blesses lives and I love seeing others blessed by the gospel because of the work I do.

What is being a Mormon like?

In a one word answer? Awesome! I have found the most joy and the most happiness in the church and it comes through loving and serving others. Being a mormon gives me opportunities to love and to serve others. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

No. We are not 4th century "Christians." We do not believe in false creeds that makes God a very unpersonal being. Rather we are Christians with whom the Apostles called Christians. The Church as it was organized in the day of christ. We are not protestant Christians, we are not evangelical Christians, we are not baptist christians. We are latter ay Christians. (I think we are pretty cool as well.) Show more Show less

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

Because God said so. For many it was a act of faith. Simple. We did, but now we dont. Show more Show less
