Hi I'm Geoffry

I've been married for over 15 years. I have 3 children. I earned a Masters degree in Computer Science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and have 3 children; 2 girls and a boy. My wife and I just passed our 15th anniversary. I'm a geek, and enjoy technology and video games. I'm a software engineer by trade. I served 7 years of active duty in the Air Force and now I'm in the Arizona Air National Guard. Even my civilian employer is doing contract work for the military. I've flown in an F-4 Phantom, a Tweet, a C-130 and been around numerous other Air Force planes. I've been truly blessed throughout my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Mormon family. But this is not the reason I am active in the church now. During my teenage years, I struggled with believing the Gospel of Christ. I actually fought against my parents and left their home at 18 and joined the military. At this time I completely wanted to distance myself from the church. However, God had other plans. In basic training and many times since, God has provided me witnesses of the truth. I came to know that Christ truly is the son of God and my Savior. I gained my own testimony through reading of The Book of Mormon, The Bible, and listening to others testify of Christ. I've come to know the blessing of repentance and the love that Christ has for me! I know God and Christ know me personally, and want me to know them.

How I live my faith

Currently I'm the Membership clerk for my ward. I update records and make sure things are in "order" as God would have them be. I've learned that God is a God of order and it's my responsibility to maintain that order in my ward. I also have the opportunity to go discuss gospel principles with 2 families within my area on a monthly basis. I truly have learned and believe in the adage of "it takes 2 to have a child, but a village to raise a child". My son is also in scouting and I get many opportunities to "tag along" with the scouts and help with camping trips and other scouting activities.
