Hi I'm Jay

I'm a Mormon first and foremost. I was raised in Utah and raised my family in Virginia.

About Me

I am active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (LDS). I married my high school sweetheart and we raised 7 children and have 17 grandchildren. I love to do family research. I helped my mother publish two family history books and I have published two of my own. Currently, I am working on one of of my wife's lines. My grandfather and Grandmother on my dad's side came from Germany in the mid-1890s.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church but it took a two year tour of military service in Japan to help understand what the church was about and what it could do for me. You might say that my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ really took root while in Japan and it has been growing ever since. I know that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior of this world. He died so that we would have the opportunity to return and live with him and our heavenly father. The pure Gospel of Jesus Christ was taken from the earth and then restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith, starting with the appearance of God the father and Jesus Christ to him, in 1820. Joseph Smith experienced many sacred events between 1820 and 1830 when the church was formally organized. I am very happy that I am a member of the LDS church.

How I live my faith

I have the privilege of working in the temple. I have the privilege of performing sacred sealings within the temple. The sealing of a husband and wife unites them for time and eternity. I am also currently serving in my local ward. A ward is like a parish in the non-mormon world.
