Hi I'm Jerry

I spent 20 years in the United Stakes Air Force and 23 years as a military contractor. I am now retired. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My career involved me in military communications. I have been heavily involved with computers over the past 35 years both at work and at home. Since retiring I am spending time fleshing out my family tree and collecting family history information. I was able to travel a lot. I have lived in or visited all 50 of the United States, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Germany and England. My wife and I raised seven children--only two were born in the same place--and now have 20 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the LDS Church, but veered off the straight and narrow path as a teenager. Several years later, while serving in Vietnam, I found myself dissatisfied with my lifestyle. I had a new daughter at home, born only weeks before I left the states for Vietnam. I didn't want her to grow up to be like me. The Lord was mindful of my state of mind and sent a member of the Church to connect with me. I was subsequently touched by the Holy Ghost and was given the witness that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I slowly divested myself of my bad habits and started cultivating good habits in line with the doctrines and principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have been an active faithful member of the Chruch ever since, though I still have my faults and have not yet achieved perfection. However, I know that by abiding the teacings of Jesus Chirst and outlined in the Bible, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Prince and Book of Mormon I can become perfect and live in the eternities with our Father in Heaven. Having this knowledge and with the help of Church programs, we have successfully raised our children to be kind, loving, caring individuals who are now raising families of their own.

How I live my faith

I provide volunteer service at our local Bishops' Storehouse. This facility provides commodities to needy members of the Church that are referred by their bishop. I am a clerk that provides administrative assistance to a local Church leader and provide training and support for clerks in several local congregations in the area.
