Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a FULL TIME mom to four beautiful kids. Life is funny, busy, stressful at times and full of purpose. In the span of a single day I am often a robot, mommy puppy, several disney characters, a dinosaur, tree and once in a while...myself! While typing this, I am "being" princess Ada and my son is Flick. My three year old son has quite an imagination. I find it a joy to see the world through the eyes of my children. This part of my life is dedicated to turning out the four little people I brought in to this world. On top of that enormous job, I love to read. I am a book addict. I love the learning books inspire but I also just love a good story. I am passionate about music! It can change everything in a moment. I also love repurposing furniture and other household items. Creating things is a large part of who I am. I also love playing tennis, soccer, taking long walks and playing xbox as a family! The best part of my life though is my husband! This is not a cheesy, flowery, "we are perfect" kind of statement. On the contrary; we are quite different from each other. I met him in college while majoring in vocal performance. He dutifully came to the operas, recitals and choir concerts I performed in when he would much rather have been listening to weezer or Jackson 5. But I'm crazy about him. He can always make me laugh. Life isn't always easy or happy but with a sense of humor, alot of aplogies and shared goals it is beautiful.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because through the gospel I have answers, a purpose in this life, comfort in hard times, joy beyond expressing and a sense of self that guides everything I do. I am a Mormon because I have felt the Holy Spirit tell me too many times that the gospel is true to ever deny that. I am a Mormon because I want my family to be together forever and not just until the end of this life. I love them too much; I work too hard on their behalf to have this all end with death. And I am a Mormon because there are many moments in life that feel like deja vu. Hiking or walking in the fall leaves with sun slanting through the late afternoon trees I feel it. When my first tiny daughter was handed to me moments after her birth and I felt her warmth and saw her perfectly formed fingers and toes...I felt it. A friend's consoling hug, the laughter at a family gathering, music that fills your soul to bursting; all things that make me feel that there is more than just this life. That we have a Father in Heaven who is aware of each of us, knows us intimately and cares about what happens to us is not just a feel good doctrine. It is the truth. I feel it. I know it!

How I live my faith

My faith is part of every day of my life. I use it to teach my children how to interact with others, show respect and kindness and make decisions that will be for their good. I am a councilor in our women's organization. I mainly preside over education which includes organizing teachers, lesson schedules, educational materials etc. I help the president of our organization watch over all the women in our ward or congregation. It is an honor to serve others and as I serve I grow in my appreciation and love for them. I am also a visiting teacher. This means that I have several women that I visit on a regular basis and we share our lives and beliefs with each other. We support each other. I treasure the chance each month to talk with other women and share our struggles and successes. It is an uplifiting experience! Because of my strong feelings about family, education and children, I frequently volunteer in my children's school. I enjoy helping the teachers and administration and my children LOVE seeing me at school during the day.
