Hi I'm Dave

I'm a business owner, a father of five, an adrenaline junkie, a husband to a smoking hot wife, and a Mormon!

About Me

I am a happily married father of five wonderful children, 4 girls and one son. I own my own financial planning/asset management company and am an avid outdoor enthusiast. I enjoy hiking the Colorado 14ers, white water kayaking, canyoneering, and exploring new and exciting places. I especially enjoy going on family excursions with my wife and children and seeing the joy that they experience in visiting new places and trying new things, i.e., cliff jumping for the first time, jumping into a crystal clear mountain lake, running the rapids, riding a horse, or learning to sno board. My mottos is"Go and See, Go and Do!" Our family theme is "Nothing can stop us!"

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the many blessings I have received by being a member of this church. I can honestly say that every good thing that I have in my life has been made better by following the principles and doctrines of the The Church of Jesus Christ. I am a better husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, employer and neighbor. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches the principles and doctrines not only of salvation but also of exaltation. It has been said that mortality is like a three act play. We are born into act II, without remembering Act I, and sometimes not even knowing that there is an Act III. The Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches about what happened in Act I, (before we came to earth) and answers the questions of Act II (What is the purpose of life? Why am I here?) and tells us what will happen in Act III, (What happens after I die?) Having the answers to life’s questions, knowing with a certainty that these things are true, helps me better understand why things happen in this life. "This is Life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17:3 The church teaches these things! If you ever have a chance, go to the Temple, walk around the grounds, attend an open house, there is a special spirit there that testifies that we are children of a Heavenly Father that loves us and wants to help lead and guide us through mortality so we can return to live with him. For this reason he has sent Prophets to teach us the Plan of Happiness, we have the Old and New Testament, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price to remind, us that God makes covenants with his children to save them! Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the light! We have a living prophet today to help guide us today. As a husband and a father, I owe it to my family to teach them these answers, and live my life accordingly. The Church is TRUE!

How I live my faith

I have been involved with the Boy Scouts of America for seven years, being Scoutmaster in three different states. Currently, I volunteer as a early morning Bible Study teacher for High School age youth, ages 14-17. These dedicated individuals wake up every school morning at 5:00 AM to attend a 1 hour Bible Study class at 6:00 AM and then attend their regular High School classes. I have the great honor of associating with and teaching these individuals the principles of the gospel as found in the Old Testament! It is such a blessing to serve in the church, helping these youth understand "why" we make right decisions and seeing them make those choices to follow Jesus Christ is AWESOME. I am a blessed man, and better for it. I thank my Heavelny Father every day for the wonderful blessing that is has been for me to be a member of his church, and to serve accordingly.

Are Mormons Christians?

Dave
Absolutely! We belong to the church of Jesus Christ...but just going to his church every Sunday doesn't make you a Christian any more than parking your Chevy in the garage will magically make it a Porche! The best measure on if someone is a Christian who says they are a Christian is to look at their actions! "Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works." James 2:17 What you do speaks louder than what you say! If you are a Christian, and you were on trial for being one, would there be enough evidence to convict you? Show more Show less
