Hi I'm Jordan Yates

I love public speaking, hiking, biking, and legos

About Me

I am the oldest child of 5. I love to be outdoors and doing stuff. That can be anywhere from biking down a mountain, wake boarding on a lake, hiking through a canyon, taking pictures or even just hanging out with friends. If im not outside i like to be creating somthing. I draw, play the guitar, build things or write. I am a debater and love it. Speach is probably my favorite pass time of them all. I love cars, airplanes and boats and hope one day to help design and build them. I love my family and am happy they are all good examples to me. I have amaizing parents and am so gratful to have be their son.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family so a better question may be "why am i still Mormon?" or " Why give up so much for what i believe?" Well, I'll tell you. Because I have reasearched it along with other beliefs and have found it to be the most accurate and consistent. I mentioned I am a debator. That means I always check my sources. I don't assume anything about what others believe or feel. I simply seek the truth. And in this search I have found answers that others can not give, explinations others havn't even considered. But setting that aside, even if I didn't know what i know now, disregarding all the stories i have heard and reasearch i have done I would still believe it. Why? Because of the Holy Ghost, the Comforter. The reason i know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church restored to the Earth is that I have petitioned my father which is in heaven. I have tried what has been taught, to see for myself. And I have recieved and answer. The blessings that have come into my life because of the gospil of Christ make everything worth it. Most importantly is the promise to be with my family for all eternity. That blessing along with returning to live with Christ and our Heavenly Father make it worth doing all that He has taught us to and to go against the grain.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite callings i've had is a home teacher. We are assigned families in our area to help and teach. We go to their homes once a month and share a message and see if they have any needs which we can then help with. I love this calling because it lets me know that people care about me and that Christ cares about me so much he makes sure the ward (congrigation) sends his people to support me. It helps build the bonds of unity among the church. I try to be an example to my siblings. The biggest calling any of us ever will have is being part of a family. Weather it be a father, mother, daughter or son, brother or sister, it is the most important calling we will have. I look forward to the day i will become a husband and father and want to do the best i can to help them return to live with our Father in Heaven.
