Hi I'm Gary

I'm a Mormon. My parents were both Mormon, so I grew up in the church. I have been married for 51 years to my eternal companion.

About Me

Hi I am Gary. I am married, 51 years, and we have 3 children and 12 grand children (9 boys and 3 girls). I have a degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. I recently retired after 50 years of working. I have been a sports enthusiast all my life and played basketball and softball during my earlier years. Now I love playing golf. My wife and I love going to movies together and traveling, especially to visit our children and grand children. We currently have two grand sons who are serving missions for our church, one in California and one South Africa.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but didn't always have a testimony. However, over the years through study and prayer I have developed a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and through Him I can be forgiving for the mistakes I may make while here on this earth. The church also provides answers to the questions about where we came from, why we are here and where we go after we leave mortality. The church stresses that the family is the most important organization on this earth and that families can be together forever, even in the life after death. That is very exciting to me and I look forward to the day when I can meet my father and mother on the other side and also eventually have my eternal companion and current family with me.

How I live my faith

Although I know that I am not perfect, I try hard to live my life like Jesus has asked us to; treat all people with respect, help those in need of comfort or help, and be a good father and citizen. I have been active in the church for over 50 years. I have held numerous leadership and teaching positions within the church. I have learned much from each of these callings and have developed strong bonds of friendship with those people with whom I served. I try to live a clean and moral life. I have never smoked or drank alcoholic beverages. I pray often and strive to read the scriptures on a regular basis.
