Hi I'm Joe

I'm a husband, I'm a father, I'm a CPA, I'm an avid golfer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in southern California as the youngest of three children. I have one sister and one brother. I played soccer, basketball, baseball and golf growing up, as well as in high school. I also played the trumpet in the marching band and jazz band while in junior high and in a ska band while in high school. I am a huge sports fan and enjoy watching my kids play flag-football, soccer, basketball and baseball. I earned my BS in Accounting from BYU and after graduation worked many years for Deloitte & Touche (public accounting firm) in Boston and Phoenix. I curently work in finance for Bank of America and enjoy it much more than public accounting. Work, children, and service in the church keep me really busy. But when I do get some free time I like to play as much golf as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon, and knew from a very young age that Jesus Christ was my Savior and Redeemer and that He died for me. I was taught many wonderful doctrines of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But as I got older, I felt it was critical for me to know for myself if these were true doctrines and principles that the Savior, Himself, taught. As I studied the holy scriptures and prayed to God, asking if the Book of Mormon was His word and if Joseph Smith was His prophet, I was filled with peace and hope. These feelings I know were an answer to my many prayers and came from the Holy Ghost. I have seen how my life has been so richly blessed when I strive to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. It gives me guidance and direction, helps me focus on things that really matter in this life, and brings me true happiness. It helps me be a better husband, father, and person. My family is so impmortant to me, and I'm grateful to know that becuase of Jusus Christ and the priesthood authority he has restored to the earth, I can be with my family forever. I am a Mormon becuase I have recieved a personal witness of the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and because of the joy and peace I feel each day as I try to live its teachings.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day by seeing others the way God, our Heavenly Father, sees them. Everyone is a child of God and therefore my brother or sister, and should be treated with love, kindness and respect. I have to admit, that it is not easy, but it is possible through His divine help. I enjoy attending Church service as it allows me to feel support from those around me that have similar struggles and challenges as well as goals. It bolsters my faith in Jesus Christ to see lives that are changed for the better by living the gospel. I am grateful to serve in the Church as it allows me to make sacrifices and to put others' interests before mine. I know that as I do so, that I am blessed as well as my family.
