Hi I'm Alison

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a middle child, a natural redhead, a mother of 3 boys and 1 girl, and have been married for 14 years. According to friends I live 'in the middle of nowhere'. As a project/craft oriented person (addict) I try my hand at all sorts of things, from the usual of cooking & sewing to refinishing furniture and playing with power tools. I am sure my wonderful husband would like it if my hobby was cleaning the house, but he loves me all the same.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This doesn't mean that I didn't have my times of struggle and yearning to find my faith. We all come to a point when we feel that there must be something more to life than just what we can see with our eyes. I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father and I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. At the darkest times in my life, He has carried me through. I know that our church is under the direction of Jesus Christ. We have been blessed with a prophet to help guide us through the pitfalls of life. I know that my family has been sealed for eternity--that we will be together forever. I have a testimony that while being obedient isn't easy--it is always worth it.

How I live my faith

I have found myself very involved in volunteering with elementary-age children. I help out at school and am a Cub Scout Leader. I have seen the difference between families that talk and teach of Christ at home and those that don't. While I might not always be sharing my testimony with the children, I try to see them as Christ does and treat them accordingly. I also try to make sure that my home is filled with a spirit of peace and happiness, this makes it a fun place to be not only for the neighborhood kids, but for mine as well. I think that the way I most try to live my faith is by trying to see others as Christ sees us--by showing that love for others.
