Hi I'm Jen

I'm a hairdresser to many, a mother of 3 spunky girls, a wife to 1 amazing man, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born on the fourth of July in Fort Worth Texas. I was adopted by my wonderful loving parents 10 days later. I have a tendancy to be a little overly enthusiastic about almost anything I find interesting. I have a love/hate relationship with politics, but LOVE my country and freedom that I enjoy! I have a love for horses. I would muck stalls all day long just to be able to be around them, even the smell doesn't bother me. I consider myself a non judgmental person, except for people that judge and gossip, Im working on not judging them... I have a salon in my home. I enjoy doing hair, but love interacting with people one-on-one. You would think that my styling chair was in a psychiatrist office alot of times. People just open up and we talk about REAL stuff. I makes me feel good that people trust me enough to share and confide in me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I find peace, purpose, protection and hope in Jesus Christ's teaching. I have a strong testimony of Jesus Christ, and know he knows and loves me. I believe that he is the only way back to my Heavenly Father. I also know that he has expectations of me, and I like that. I believe that he expects me to follow his example. I can show him through my actions as I experience this life and its challenges, of my love and devotion to him. I absolutely believe that our daily personal choices affect our eternal growth. This life has a purpose! I believe in a loving heavenly Father who wants all of us to return to him. I know that he will never force us to do his will, but he will always welcome us back, no matter what. I am also grateful to know what the purpose is after this life on earth is over. Im glad to know that for"eternity" I wont merely be flying around with wings, playing a harp. :) Instead, I will be purposefully busy, learning and growing forever, with those I know and love. As a member of, "the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints" I find friendship, support, consistency, self worth, inspiration and truth.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity every Sunday after our congregation meets for Sacrament meeting, to work with the children from ages 3-12 in Primary. I have the opportunity to teach the children about God and Jesus Christ, about their value, purpose and plan here on earth. Jesus said that we must be as little children the enter the kingdom of God, and I know why. They are fun, unassuming, eager to learn and change, forgiving and full of love. I enjoy working with them so much and learn something from them every week. On a monthly basis I am also responsible for visiting, helping and teaching 4-5 women in our congregation. It is called visiting teaching. Its a great way that to make sure everyone that is a member has contact with the church. Some of them cannot make it to church, some can and may just need help around the house, or an inspiring message. It's a way we care for and account for everyones needs. Being a member of the LDS church we have many opportunities to serve. We learn so much from diligently trying to do what our Heavenly Father asks of us. We believe that every "calling"=job or duty, is inspired and not just assigned. Believing this helps us willingly accept responsibilities' that we might not otherwise feel capable of doing. I know I have been blessed beyond the service I have rendered.
